Chad Wingard- Port Adelaide Power
Position: MID with an outside chance of FWD as well.
Price: 228,500
2011 Games: NA
2012 Games: 19
2011 Avergae: NA
2012 Average: 48.4
2012 Tons: 0
Summary: Wingard is a silky-smooth midfielder who uses the ball very well, took an eternity for him to hit his straps, which frustrated coaches like me who started with him, but in the last 3 games started to show us what we all knew he could do, having a last 3 game average of 74. Will only improve in an improving Port midfield, many people (including myself) are predicting he will nab a brownlow before he retires.
Verdict: Between him and Embley for my 5th spot, but am leaning towards Chad. :) But a lock if M/F
Predicted Average: 80-85
If a FWD, I'll be considering. Not as a mid though :)
Good writeup buddy! Would be a pretty crazy average up there??
More than certainly capable of it ;) He didnt get taken top 10 for no reason! :P
Nice write-up KK :)
Wingard definitely on my watchlist...would be a bargain at that price if he could average 80+
Not taking speculative punts next year.... :-\

Perfectly understandable Windi :)
Not convinced on him at this stage.
Killed me this year.
Will be a gun in the next 2-5 years... I'll re-assess then :)
yeh i try and stay away from young players in there follow up year. in 2-3 years this kid will no doubt be a gun tho
I've seen a bit of him and he's an impressive kid, will be a good player. Not for me at this stage though.
Harsh to call him silly Koop

Definite lock if he is a M/F but at that price definitely worth thinking about, even if just for a cash cow
Is he actually a chance for DPP?
Im a genius, called it :P
Lock on the thrid year breakout as a M/F next year.
2014 brownlow medalist Sir Chadwick Wingard

and I'm guessing Hoff for Coleman?
Is Wingard the real deal?
He's scoring really well and looking like a massive breakout.
Convince me otherwise.
Has been really impressive this season and will continue to improve as Port do I do see him however absolutely exploding in 2014.
I wouldn't look at bringing him in now if you started with him well done but don't go chasing his points now when he won't be in the top 8-10 mids this year.
2014 however top scorer in all fantasy games.

Dead on call mate ;) It's rare to see a call that was correct in every single aspect (you were off on the average by 2.5 pts but who really cares :P ) Great observational skills, I knew him in 2012 but after seeing his dt stats that year I didn't think too much of him just that he was a priority pick. At the beginning of this season I favoured Wines more but the first GCS game when he shot that goal from outside 50 made me think we had the next Wayne Carey ;) Little did I know he continued to improve and proved himself to me as not just a superstar forward but also in the midfield haha Collingwood gave him a primary tag in r14 -didn't do anything haha- but was stupid to let him play free in the elim hahaha. Easily the future of football, if I had to name my five favourites at Port it would be Wingard, Westhoff, Ebert, Boak & Cornes (Monfries, Jonas, Lobbe (only recently) & Schultz all came close (I have high expectations for Wines as well). I seriously love my team this season almost as much as I loved my team from 2002-2005, hopefully this new side can supersede the old one ;D But in all honesty Wingard=The Next Wayne Carey

In what way? By becoming the most dominant key forward in the game? :P

hahaha yeah I forgot that factor ;) Maybe the next James Hird is the best possible comparison :P
I mainly stated Wayne Carey because he is the greatest player in history ;) GAJ is most likely going to surpass him but I think Carey's off-field controversy makes him the full deal (from dominance to nothing(sentimentally that is :P ) haha

Lairdy ;D Nah nah it is the Great Man! (That would be Tex :P )
If your not going to be picking The Chad next year don't even bother playing.
No way will I be getting him if mid only.
He shouldn't be but you never can be certain with VS changes.

I'm backing Elephants on this. I will only start him if he is DPP, if pure mid I'll wait a few rounds and decide because there will be better options for the midfield (I'd start Jack Steven over him in the mid even). If he has dpp a definite lock though along with Rockliff & Stevie J (maybe Dusty if I can fit him in (if this year taught me anything it was wait before upgrading your backs (my backline was completed, demolished & reestablished a total of 4 times this season (five if you include Heppell-> Harry O & Ibbo-> Bob Murphy) hahaha definitely will only be starting Goddard & maybe Heppell next year (if the 1% chance occurs where Ebert gets dpp he'll be a lock & also pending on McVeigh & Mitchell which will make my current plan even harder haha), the rest of the backs can prove themselves to me as the season progresses ;)
Yeah, this call was tops Coop, solid effort! 8)
