WXVW Round 7
This weeks matchup:
Barcelona Lynx VS Rome Goddesses
It's time for the Grand Final! Two teams that drafted very well in the 2017/18 National Draft. Both teams have been through the turmoil so far in their history. Both these teams very much deserve to be here! Rome finishing the season on fire! These two teams boast the 2 best percentages in the comp and also the 2 fewest points against! We look to be in for a cracker here!

Barcelona have been almost unstoppable this year! They've frequently had numerous members in Team of the Week. Over the course of the year every single one of their positions has stepped up. Emma King is one of the premier rucks in the game. Their backline has been perfectly reassembled in the Nat Draft. Their forward line would be suited and comfortable in any XVs comp. And their midfield is led by the tackling destroyer Ebony Marinoff! Who maybe has been to most impressive story this year. This team is currently undefeated and will look even more unstoppable with the addition of HGA to aid them in this match.

Rome were in ruins last year after Moana Hope, their first overall pick barely showed up at all. But this year Hope is shining alongside their top young talents of Monique Conti. Led by 6th round steal, Emma Kearney the Goddesses posses one of the most explosive scorers in our game. In my opinion Rome haven't put together a full team performance yet. There has always been a down score or two if not a late out or injury. For their sake you'd hope they can get all of their players to combine this week.

Here we go!
Also don't forget that Karachi and Algeria also need to select/name a team in order to be in the running for World Idol.
Wait, Lima didn't make it? :(

Chill everybody, nothing like a bit of suspense. :P Not as if we're a chance to win anyway. Barca are OP. Would need a 150+ score from Emma, maybe? ;)
On phone, so could I please move Clarke to replace Hildebrand, and for Sarah last to replace Clarke's spot in the emergencies?

It's disheartening that we can't get quarter by quarter stats. I honestly think SFT might have score 100 in the 1st.

Very interesting start. Both teams having 4 play. The big difference being Sabrina Frederick-Traub. Exon and Clarke almost even SFt's monster score out though. On the other hand, Rome won't be too unhappy with their start. Their D4, F4 and I2 all played in this one. They have okay scores but will definitely need their top end talent to step up.
My D4 has been my biggest weakness this year. Honestly, 19 is probably my 3rd biggest effort from D4 this year, so not too salty about it.
Traub :)
I think Rome also had Collier play?
Need an Idol update too!
Just noticed that the grand final captains Kearney (106) and Marinoff (97) and the number 1 and 2 SC players so far this year!

Wow! What happened to Daisy?
About the only good thing that came out of the initial draft was drafting Emma to Rome so late! Star Cricketer/Footballer.

Hmm! Well the dogs v demons match is absolutely disastrous for Barcelona.
Like, flower off Kearney, for one.
If anyone wants Nic Stevens, she's available for trade. If nobody wants her, I'm delisting her. Carlton have flowering ruined her.
Think I'm copping at least three sub 20s in defense :-X
Please, stop Kearney.

Hmm. Good try Emma.
my Collingwood players and Eb is what remains
, and they are usually my most dependable bunch. I need you to rely on you once more!
The difference is what, 168 and 4 players? Definitely not an easy margin.
Cecelia McIntosh, Sarah Allen probably need to double their averages today.
Mo Hope. Let me know today why I picked you over Barcelona's captain among all.

How painful is it to go over and look at the original draft? Literally every team passed on Paxman at least 3 times. Kearney somehow slid to round 6. Alicia Eva round 7. Jas Garner round 11. Ally Anderson round 14. Round 15 was actually loaded as well! Erin Phillips round 16! Lily Mithen round 18. Dana Hooker round 21.
So many missed opportunities :'(

Torp is all over it! Again it's probably going to come down to Barcelona's best players. Marinoff, King, Garner, Molloy. If they all go decent I don't think Rome can get up. Barca's backline has definitely kept Rome in the game here! It'd be nice to see Rome put 200-odd on the board with their final 3 to make things really hard for Barca!!
Karachi on track to salvage some respect in the World Idol
Downie played for a 51, so it should be 402 with 7 to come.
Not that it matters though. I've turned putrid in the last few weeks.
Lisa Webb actually has already played, for a handy 71

I'd take it, especially with a donut from a player who actually played.
Marinoff a bit quiet but Garner + Molloy putting in the scores needed by Berlin.

If only Levi, if only.
Garner, you're a star!
That final 2 minutes were ridiculous for Barca!
Marinoff 2 marks, 2 kicks, 2 rebound 50's. King 1 mark, 2 kicks. Molloy 1 mark, 1 kick, 1 I50.
I just won the other AFLW comp I'm a part of so I'll feel better about whatever the result here is. :P

That'd sum up Karachi's season very well if so. ;D

It actually doesn't go ahead and happen!
Big congrats to Torp for making it to the final, but I guess it was just my day :o

There we have it!
Congratulations to the 2018 WXVW Premiers: The Barcelona Lynx! What a way to do it as well! The highest score in WXVW history! Just take a look at that World Class forward line! How is anyone suppose to defeat that?
Congratulations is an order for the Coach Purple 77. For taking over this lost franchise and drafting so well that it turned into our 2nd ever Premiers! I guess we should also congratulate the inaugural owner Football Factory for his input during the origin draft and Levi434 for taking over the naming of the team last year. But overall Purple 77 and the Lynx deserve all the credit in the world and are very much a deserving Premier. A team that barely was challenged all year finally get to lift their trophy.
Big congratulations and condolences to Torp and Rome. They definitely deserved to be here and I have no doubt they'll be back. A team that proved all of us wrong.
But for now the party has started in Barcelona!
Jasmine Garner what a stellar performance to big her team home.

Absolutely thrilled! Which is something I didn't expect to be when I initially signed up.
Winning is always a nice feeling, but it was Levi's superb running of the comp that not only made WXVW enjoyable, but really added to my AFLW experience. This comp has a wonderful niche kinda feel to it, and it was awesome to be a part of.
Well done to Torp for making it into the final despite adversity, no doubt a team who will challenge again next year.
I'm actually over the moon; it's my first real piece of silverware after like 7 years of being part of a XVs, as I said when I joined up:

#7YearsPlayinStillNoSlayin
Football Factory's drafting of Emma King, SFT and Marinoff provided - in the end - a premiership winning core. I was happy to grab a handful of XV worthy players along the way to complete the puzzle.
But, I guess, you could almost say...

I declare the Winner of the World Idol: The Barcelona Lynx!
Congratulations again Purple 77 and The Lynx. Truly a team of complete consistency and a much deserved honour.
I also hope for you sake that this form translates into the WXV Competition.
Again a very special thanks to all coaches for being involved.
Thanks to FTC for running the World Idol and Ladder all year as well.
Congratulations Barcelona and Purps, hardly put a foot wrong all season. Looking forward to season three and perhaps some off-season trades in about 10 months time?

Nah more like 9 lmao.
I'd be keen to get into all the trades etc but unfortunately you'd think we have to wait until we can be certain what the AFLW will look like next year. E.g. new teams, roster size, retirees.

Correct, it's not worth starting until we know more.
Well done to Purple77 for taking out the title, well deserved to grab the first load of silverware, which is unlikely to be his last for this season!
Big kudos goes to Levi for his exceptional administration of the league. Made it thoroughly enjoyable and hopefully its success can continue. :)
Wait Lima didn't win?
What a farce! Rigged! There was definitely some peptides floating through the comp that didn't make it our way.
