Few big matches this week:

Sinners have a basically MUST WIN match away at New Brooklyn - the hawks would've won comprehensively should this match have been played last round, so the Sinners will have to improve if they want to play finals. Also a huge game in the reserves, as the teams sit 1 and 2 currently - the Coyotes could all but secure the minor premiership with a win, while Harlem could leapfrog them into top with a win (and % boost).

Carolina should win at home against Chicago to continue to apply pressure on the top two. Both teams' reserves also sit in the finals spots, so a needed win on both sides.

Ottawa would've beaten Boston (home or away) last round, hopefully (not bias - hopefully for a huge upset) they can replicate it and miraculously get up - although I can't see Boston having their captain go down for 3 again this week. A must-win for Suffolk if they want to play ressies finals.

Anaheim should sweep past Colorado, probably won't be interesting. The Bootleggers need to win if they want a chance at finals.

Again, Houston should easily beat Quito in both the league and reserves sides, but you never know.

Finally, 5th plays 6th in a huge game - San Francisco need to win as they strive to climb the ladder (and stay clear of Las Vegas), while a Wisconsin loss could be a dent their finals hopes. In the reserves, Stanford will hope that they can jump into the top two with a win and Harlem loss, while Milwaukee, having scored an eerie 666 points so far, simply need four points as they strive for sixth spot.

Quickly, a ladder of the sides with combined league and reserves records:
1. Las Vegas 19-7 (113.93%)
2. Carolina 19-7 (112.57%)
3. San Francisco 19-7 (110.71%)
4. Houston 17.5-8.5
5. Boston 17-9
6. Wisconsin 13.5-12.5
7. New Brooklyn 13-13
8. Anaheim 12-14
9. Chicago 10-16
10. Colorado 6-20 (90.29%)
11. Quito 6-20 (87.83%)
12. Ottawa 6-20 (79.83%)
Interesting how 5 of the top 6 are in the league finals spots, with the one outlier being the Sinners/Coyotes who have a solid league record and a fantastic ressies record - although the difference between the top three teams at 19-7 on % is marginal. Anaheim also an outlier based on their horrific reserves record, while you wouldn't want to be any of the 6-20 teams...

New Brooklyn Hawks 20.5.125 defeated Las Vegas Sinners 18.9.117
(Real: 1881 vs 1748)

The Sinners were pretty decent, but the Hawks were on fire as they record a fourth victory for 2017. The usual suspects shone for both sides, as the Crouch brothers combined for 253 and Captain Cripps scored 126 for the Hawks, while Tom Mitchell and Buddy were great for Las Vegas, in addition to a bright display from young Jordan De Goey. On the other hand, star midfielders Sidebottom and Rockliff failed to fire, and both sides had a score in the 40s and one in the 50s.

Best
New Brooklyn: Crouch, Cripps, Crouch, Newnes, Mayes, Steele
Las Vegas: Lyons, Mitchell, Franklin, De Goey, Westhoff

Carolina Panthers 20.6.126 defeated Chicago Sharks 16.12.108
(Real: 1887 vs 1626)

Pretty expected result really. The Sharks struggled without Hurn, Lynch, and Menzel (their replacements combining for 139 total points), but had a fair few great performances - Tom McDonald's form up forward continues to reap rewards for the Sharks. Meanwhile, Patton had another good game up forward for Carolina and their star-studded midfield did their stuff, but if you have to pick out a negative it would be poor scoring down back (Roberton 60, Kolodjashnij 46) and from their utilities (Henderson 56, Redpath 79) - can their midfield (and Docherty) keep propping them up?

Best
Carolina: Ward, Menegola, Docherty, Martin, Kelly, Grundy, McDonald, Patton
Chicago: Parker, Gaff, Ryder, McDonald, Burgoyne, Kerridge, Yeo

Boston Terriers 17.12.114 defeated Ottawa Otters 15.14.104
(Real: 1709 vs 1560)

Rats. Would've been an enormous upset if Ottawa had replicated their Round 13 performance and beaten the Terriers, but alas it was not to be. Selwood out might have initially hurt the Terriers, but it ended up okay - Gibbs stepped up with 142 as EVC, while Biggs as E1 scored 102 - and to top it off, sub Jack Martin scored 122 - those three occurrences were pretty much the difference. Boston were very poor though obviously, with three players scoring 45 (unique in itself) and a score of 44, with their defence averaging 61.5 each and captain Pendlebury only managing 79. They offered up a potential victory to the Otters but they could not take it, as they were plagued by mediocre scoring - 8 scores between 57 and 65 really hurt. Ryan Lester stood up as VC and each of their captaincy trio tonned up, so it's not all doom and gloom. In short - a missed chance for a 3-10 team to beat a 12-1 team.

Best
Boston: Gibbs, Martin, Wingard, Nankervis, Biggs, Goldstein
Ottawa: McGovern, Lester, Treloar, Fiorini

Ressies and ladders maybe later but probably Tuesday.

Easy win for the Ducks because the coach of the Avalanche is an absolute pelican who handicapped his own team by going in with 17 men.

Houston can count themselves very lucky that Quito's Callum Mills was subbed out with no impact and Jake Barrett as sub had minimal impact or there would have likely been an upset.

San Francisco Grizzlies 1710 lost to Wisconsin Cockerels 1813

Grizzlies - 1710

D: H. Shaw 85, Z. Williams B. Maynard 74, L. Montagna 71, O. McDonald 98

E: Alex Sexton (M), Josh Bruce (F), Hayden Crozier (B), Jack Lonie 58 (sub)

This was a pretty important clash and it delivered, but it was the Cockerels that wanted it that little bit more and had a more even spread of contributors to help them get the win.

There was a sacrifice though as your ressies went down by 17 (ie 170 SC points)

I'll have all the ressies stuff (with write-ups!) tonight - shock alert as one team broke the record for highest ever ressies score, who don't currently sit in the finals spots (pre R14 as in). Stay tuned for who it is! (Not clickbait I swear)

Nope. Emergencies cover OOPs, not utilities.

Reserves

Harlem Naggers 7.4.46 lost to Nevada Desert Coyotes 10.3.63
(Real: 460 vs 630)
The top two teams on the ladder squared off, with the top-placed Coyotes securing a nice 17-point victory. The Coyotes were lead by Harry Taylor and Jade Gresham's 90+ scores to get the big win, while Lee Spurr was nice for the Naggers but they simply had too many players in the medical room.

North Carolina Tar Heels 8.4.52 lost to Rockford Bears 11.7.73
(Real: 517 vs 731)
Big big win by the Bears as they had just too many good players for NCTH to handle. Johnson, Hipwood, Andrews, Captain Jetta, and Jonas had nice 85+ scores, and if it wasn't for a couple of spuds (Thompson and McCarthy) they would've scored even higher.

Suffolk Terriers 16.8.104 defeated Ottawa Otters 3.8.26
(Real: 1036 vs 256)
Wowee, highest score we've had by a great (but lucky) Boston outfit. Captain Darling scored 138 to set the tone, while Redden, Bastinac, and Gleeson all scored 99s and Hughes went big with his 131. Massive percentage booster as the Otters could only strut out three players.

Birmingham Dragons 10.5.65 defeated Colorado Avalanche 6.6.42
(Real: 647 vs 422)
Finals may be out of reach, but a big statement from the ducks to show they're not always going to be pushovers as they manage 10 players for the first time. Harbrow was best-on-ground with 102, while Rosa and Hardwick lead the way for the Dragons.

Galapagos Tortoise 7.8.50 lost to Rio Grande Valley Rockets 12.6.78
(Real: 504 vs 780)
Tons from Lambert and Howe lead the Rockets to another big victory as they strive to climb the ladder. Campbell was the best afield for the Tortoise, who aren't quite out of finals contention but will need to just about win out.

Stanford Cardinal 7.9.51 lost to Milwaukee Roosters 9.4.58
(Real: 505 vs 579)
Bad loss for Stanford as they looked to get a top two spot, while the Roosters give a boost to their finals chances. Stanford had a couple star scores - lead by Kieren Jack's 125 - but were let down by both not having the full 10 players and having a fair few squib scores - two scores in the 20s and two in the 40s spring to mind. Captain Duggan wasn't great for the Roosters but young ruck Sean Darcy had a great game and was well supported by Curnow and a fair few steady 60s scores.
