Supercoach Team Advice / Re: Bully's Boys 2024

Quote from: Bully on Yesterday at 11:02:24 PMno one gets kick out priority over Ridley,

This isn't true anymore and probably hasn't been the case for a few years. Redman was the top guy last year and is currently number 1. In the last two games where he actually played, McGrath has been the number 1 guy, Redman, Martin, Heppell and Ridley have all had their share, but you aren't going to get a huge number to give him that floor. He has had an unsustainable intercept game the last 2 weeks which is why he has scored so well.

There is obviously a risk in Fisher, but after the top 3 the options become really had to separate. They all carry risk and with his DPP Fisher is great value for the bye weeks. You can have him fill in on either line and if it looks like he isn't up to scratch he is an easy sideways to Rankine when he returns from injury.

Quote from: Mat0369 on Yesterday at 10:46:45 PMI'd take Fisher over Ridley specifically looking at the bye weeks. Fisher can then be swung to F4 and you could even look at someone like Clark next week as a bye friendly option for D6

The 'good' news is that Crouch has an AC joint injury. That should hopefully mean that Laird sees a boost in the middle

I think I'd rather get the player with a definite role, Ridley is a safe pick, no one gets kick out priority over Ridley, plus there's the intercept game, always a super safe floor as long as he's fit. I think for 530k he's the best value left. Sinclair is another worth considering but again, you have a coach chopping and changing.

Let's also not forget Fisher was sub not long ago, it's not exactly a winning formula either, these are the conditions for unpredictability.

Round 12

Score: 2,118
Rank: 49,591
Round Rank: 2,806
Cash: $195,700

Trades

Wilson > Boak
Windhager > Salem
Sweet > Freijah

You cannot view this attachment.

Good: Daicos, Dale, Brown, Salem, Bont, Walsh, English, Flanders, Moore, Macrae
Pass: May, Miller, Freijah
Bad: Stewart, Butters, Laird, Sullivan, Boak
Ugly: Clohesy, Oliver (CD)

So I scored almost as much this week off 18 players than I did last week with 22, that sums up how bad last week was. It was a nice bounce back for the first bye week, it looks like I can field 18 and have cash in the bank.

The trades were okay, Freijah was pretty solid, Salem was great in the first half and slowed down but 90 is a good score at his price. Clark would have been the right option there. Boak was a bit underwhelming but he looked good, passed the eye test and he is there to make up points at the back end of the bye weeks.

Clohesy, Brown and Adams will be the three I trade out this week, the plan is to bring in Fisher, Dawson and a mid. I would have loved to bring in Neale but I'm going to be short on cash. I think the two best options looking at the bye weeks are Gulden and LDU. Gulden has been solid without being spectacular, he has averaged 106 over his last 7. He does have a huge ceiling and had a huge back end to last year where he averaged 122 over his last 12 including the elimination final, there was a 60 odd score in there which shows how ridiculous his ceiling is. Meanwhile LDU has dropped under the ton once in his last 6 games and that score was a 90. He is averaging about 113.5 in that stretch and plays the Eagles this week. Gulden leaves me 46k where as LDU leaves me 5.1k for my correction trades.

This week was decent, VC Bont the perfect way to start the bye period, 2045 sent me up to the 27k mark which is a step in the right direction. This week it's a choice between D6 & F4 but I think defence is the way to go, even with the bye I think Ridley wins versus Fisher. It's a matter of trust and Clarko doesn't fill me with confidence when it comes to the North team in general. McKercher will get gametime eventually so there's uncertainty when it comes to Fisher.

As far as the rookies go, very lean, McNeill is ok filler, only need 2-3 games out of him to justify the pick. McMullin another who doesn't need to hang around for long, a few 50s would be ok.

Heaven help me next week, could be ugly if these rookies start dropping off.

Rio the opposite of the consistent side I'm used to. The top end are doing their job (TDK, NWM, Wood, Viney) but then the bottom 5 (Guys like Cowan and Kennedy) have floors too low :(

My non-key forwards need more consistency

One of the clangers was the FA so that's only 1 clanger that was a disposal. It's ridiculous
