Press releases & draft news
09/09/12
It has been confirmed by coach LaHug that Tom Rockliff will not be offered in any trades during the off season. When asked about his availability, LaHug stated "It has been a tough season for Tom in the midfield but we believe there is a role for him in our forward line for the 2013 season".
10/09/12
The Bison have completed a 3-way trade with the Trolls and the Titans that sees the Bison pick up Heath Scotland and Harry Taylor in exchange for Brent Stanton, as well as picks 10 and 28 in the draft in exchange for picks 7 and 50. The Bison would like to thank Brent for his services to the Bison but feel the move to strengthen up the backline fitted the clubs needs to be successful in the near future.
11/09/12
The Bison have given up draft picks 10 and 28 for Sam Mitchell and pick 56. We welcome Sam and are hoping he can fill the role of a premium midfielder that was vacated by Brent Stanton.
13/09/12
In the early hours of the morning, the Bison have finally agreed to terms with the Trolls to get Dayne Zorko. The young Lion should be a feature for years to come but will also make an immediate impact to (hopefully) the forward line. The Bison also welcome senior midfielder Jude Bolton to the team and hope that he has a few years of scoring left in him. However, to gain something you have to lose something in return and the Bison bid farewell to Alex Rance, Heath Grundy, and Will Hoskin-Elliot. We would like to thank Alex, Heath, and Will for their services.
After some back and forth, the Bison have also secured Paul Duffield from the Savage Sons in exchange for Nathan Jones and draft upgrades. It is sad to see Nathan leave as there is a lot of potential with him but we felt it was best for the club to pick up Paul for our defence.
23/09/12
Despite great hesitance to trade him, the need for a strong forward has forced the Bison to trade young midfielder Ben Cunnington. In exchange, the Bison get star Jack Riewoldt. Also departing in the trade were Andrew Krakouer and Eddie Betts. The Bison wish Ben, Andrew and Eddie all the best with their future endeavours.

The Bison have high hopes for what some media outlets are already calling The Super Seven!
For those wondering what our team currently looks like as it hasn't been updated in a while it looks like this...
Defenders (11)
Heath Scotland, Matthew Suckling, Paul Duffield, Harry Taylor, Luke Russell, Troy Chaplin, Bret Thornton (fwd), Jordan Russell, Joshua Bootsma, Luke Brown, Nathan Wright
Midfielders (13)
Sam Mitchell, James Kelly, David Armitage, David Mundy, Clint Jones, Daniel Jackson, Luke Ball, Xavier Ellis, Jordan Gysberts, Brad McKenzie, Alex Woodward, Nick Graham, Mark Hutchings
Rucks (3)
Sam Jacobs, Josh Jenkins Angus Graham
Forwards (13)
Dayne Zorko, Tom Rockliff, Jarryd Roughead, Jude Bolton, Colin Sylvia, Angus Monfries, Matthew Stokes, Quinten Lynch, Liam Jones, Tim Membrey, Mason Wood, Max Duffy, Brant Colledge
haha, I was going to say 'thats a good backline, a beast forward line, and ok ruck line...but filthy, filthy midfielders.'
Exactly why we are after some quality ones zip ;)
Yeah that is an awesome forward line, but Xavier Ellis is mid only.
Wow really lez? After only playing 3 games this year that seems pretty harsh on him...
http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,69525.0.html
Yeah they must of put finals into prospective.
That just says Ellis. Could be Brandon Ellis...
clutching at straws- brandon ellis played defence all year :P
I brought it up to Jroo and he said Xavier wen I thought it was Brandon... :-[
Well I just don't get how you can change a guys position when he has only played 3 games!
he played 6 games including finals. They may have taken VFL into account as well.
He's a spud anyways

Yeah, but in the grand final he played in defense (after starting forward), in the match against Adelaide he was used as a forward tag on Reilly, and against Port he also played forward. If anything he should be a forward not a mid. Oh well :(
The Bison would like to welcome our new assistant coach, luvfooty, to the team!

Someone(won`t mention his name) is meant to be doing a new one for me but he may have forgotten about it.
Howdy all, stew42 here, recently appointed Assistant Coach of Belarus Bison. Having had experience as an Assistant Coach of the Birmingham Dragons and a caretaker coach of the now defunct Newcastle Falcons in the British domestic game, I'm thrilled to be finally fulfilling my continental aspirations. I feel that there is a lot of potential in this side, as well as rich heritage, and that we will rise one better than we did in 2013.
While I'm here, here are the trades the mighty Bisons have completed so far in the off-season. Message LH, Honey Badger or me for trade offers :D
Out: P. Duffield + S. Jacobs + N36

Having received the reins as Coach of the Bears, it seems I also have inherited the fact that we play each other in rivalry rounds. Will enjoy the banter leading up to this in the upcoming seasons.
