The Wolves would like to announce that we have finally secured a new assistant coach - welcome whatlez !! :)
I would prefer lower case w lol
annnnd whatlez has left the valkyries.
nobody knows the reason, but a romantic relationship between the head coach and whatlez is looking likely.

The Wolves take a huge blow:
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/131203/default.aspx
Shannon Wellingham injured and probably won't get a game in a while. Really weakens our stella midfield.
Gram also out for a month
http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/131263/default.aspx
The Wolves breathe a sigh of relief that they were able to acquire Greg Broughton this week who will help immensely in holding up the defence who will start the season without Gram.

If "Shannon" is a big part of your midfield it's probably not stellar compared to the big guns from Sweden.
whatlez was exaggerating a bit, Wellingham is pretty much just one of many depth players :P
lol Wellingham is like our 7th Reserve. He does not affect lol.
The Wolves are happy with James McDonald who scored 98 points. He may be taking a two week spell, but he is currently in line to get the 3 votes in the B&F.
Haha, whatlez we probably don't need to include the pre-season friendlies in the b&f ;)
We will have a B&F for the friendlies lol.
Hahaha, player of the pre-season ;)

i dont think he will be in running for the 3 votes after Ablett tears apart the crows.
I have declared that Ablett will win the B&F so we have already given him the throphy.
What if he gets injured in the next match and is out for the season?

Sure I'll comment since you want me to. I don't see anything wrong with it since Scrads the coach will still be in charge and will use whatlez and tabs to bounce around ideas, but Scrads will still be there to pick the team each week and run the club.
More the merrier guys. Tabs can be our scout and banter head. He can start fights within other clubs. lol

The Wolves are devasted with our star backman Andrew Carrazzo, who is out for 8 weeks minimum. :'(
However, will would like to welcome Garrick Ibbotson to the starting line-up
A huge blow to the Wolves.
Both Captain Gary Ablett and Vice Captain Andrew Carrazzo are out with injuries.
New captain will be announced later today.
Judd withdrawal was fustrating and Bartel has picked up a minor ankle injury.
whatlez dont forget to update the bnf from the last 2 rounds :P
Got it in a word doc.
All over it Scrads.

Long story short........
We have Ablett, Carrazzo and (for last week) Judd out and we are still killing it :)
Broughts got off so we're happy for our captain.
If Ablett and Chris come back this week and Bartel gets get over his ankle niggle.
Our midfield will be too dominate. James Mc and Chris Masten will probably get dropped :S
Scrads can you update our starting team on the first page?

Hey Scrads do you think has been our most value player?
I recon Tom Bellchambers?

And he's only first year player in AFL we have blooded lol.
dam another vest, will score well if he plays the full game
Wolves with another win.
The coaching staff are delighted knocking over the top of the table clash :)
Stil over 6 months from the opening of the Euro's 15 transfer window star backmen Gregory Broughton is reportedly homesick and would like to return to his original side, the Belgian Bashers.
It is likely that this rumour will be a long and drawn out affair come next Summer!
;D
Greg broughton has been offered a 500k per year contract with his average score per round over 90 during the Euros has started.
Meanwhile, Garrick Ibbotson would like to go the bashers, selling cheap.
"Money is the root of all evil"
- Greg Broughton
He will struggle to turn that down though.
Garrick is welcome as long as he keeps his defensive elegibility and expell the stinkers from his scoring history.
Broughton is more than happy at the wolves.
He looks like getting a 5 year contract in the near future.

Lol why did you guys get rid of him?
We traded Jordie Lewis for him...
And we traded Lewis for Daisy.
Daisy will average 110+ in the coming years, I'm confident.
I think we got the best deal out of it ;D
Well so far :)
So far yeah... 5 year comp though :)
In other news.
Head assistant coach of the Mighty Macedonian Wolves, has declared that he hates Hayden Ballatyne and will offer to trade him in the off season.
A quote was made in his statement:
"I hate the flog, get out of our team".
Not alone there buddy hahaha!
New Betting odds for the Wolves.
Gary Ablett out to $2
Brad Ebert down to $5
Chris Judd, Nathan Van Berlo and Matthew Pavlich at $8
Gregory Broughton and Steve Johnson to $10
Brent Guerra to $12
Jimmy Bartel out to $15
Everyone not listed $20 or more.
I sneaky offer that ends 30th May is Andrew Carrazzo to be in the top 5 at years end. Paying $5.
But, The Wolves bet bonus offer is a treble for all 3 awards. Putting money on Ablett, Ellis and Bellchambers to win B&F, best young player and most valuable player will be priced at $8.
Remember odds will be updated by the bye rounds so get on while you can.
Just had a thought.
When i was living in the gong the local Soccer team were the Wollongong Wolves. Their theme song was a re-worded version of the Song Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon called "Werewolves of Wollongong". On the bassi we can re-word it again and come up with our own theme song "Werewolves of Macedonia"

Like I was saying about losing Jmac, Can we get a priority pick on Luke Parker?
Just to make sure we can get him??
Lol, you're not getting anything for Jmac retiring :P
Well we have talked contracts with Parker. So looks like he's coming to the Wolves ;D
good luck with that i dont see him surviving 13 picks in the draft as its likely your going to have pick 14. Your going to have to trade with someone like me to get him.
but he is bunking with me as negotiations go on
yes he came to me and agreed to a sign and trade to join the wolves
I can see him surviving until pick one.
aka the mighty failing valkyries.
I have a question- are we going to delist players pre or post draft?
personally, I would prefer to delist players right before the draft where we can pick up players...

yeah delist players beofre the draft so others can poach them if they want.
yeah, but I mean, like after the national draft preferably.
it seems a little stupid, but I'd prefer not to have a situation where someones structure gets flowered over, or where someone is forced to hold onto shower players because they're worried about screwing up their structure :P

yea the plan is you get your national draft picks than you will need to delist people if you want picks in the 2nd draft.
But seriously we want him.
Tabs is his manager!?!? Lol
ok good, that's what I wanted.
are we having a trade period before the draft?
it makes sense we would so we can trade picks.
but then will we have one after the draft?
There are other gems in the draft too ;)
Holz wtf we should be getting 2 first round picks, a 5 year first rounder like the compo ones the afl gave out, rights to 3 17 year olds pre-draft and a 30% salary cap increase when JMAC retires. Seriously get with it :P

you can have that if you give me ablett :)

and i am pretty sure still the only one with him in my DT
I probably won't be trading heavily until after DT opens up and we get to see new positions. I believe me may see a few more Mid/Def next year. I'm hoping Iles and Hartlett get DPP.
Shouldn't we need to de list players before the draft? How else are we going to decide how many picks we get. Unless the size of our squads are going to increase.
How is the rookie list going to operate? Will it be similar to AFL rookie list where we either need to leave a spot open on our main list to upgrade one? Will it take LTI's to be able to play them? Do we get a free upgrade mid year? Or do we just use it at will? In which case is it worth having a rookie list?
Then will we have to use a pick in the national draft in future years to upgrade a rookie to the main list? I think Holz needs to either open up a discussion thread or just rule with the iron fist and make the decisions. Personally I'd rather see Holz just rule with the iron fist, if the mid year trade period discussion proved anything is that we won't all agree on things.
I will post what my plan is later today in a thread. It will be upon to review and improvement if needed but it will largely be what's going to happen next year.
I'm dreading the day that Mitch Robbo loses his DPP :(

Yay!!
The Wolves have fallen couragously :-X
Well the loss needed to come and we will bounce right back and finish the year strongly.
Wolves' Coach tells players 'no excuses'
Scrads, head coach of the Macedonian Wolves, today sent a very straightforward message to all of his players- win this week at all costs.
'Obviously whatlez, tabs and I were very dissapointed with last weeks close loss. Full credit to HP, but it felt like it was just one if those games where the crowd gets their team over the line... I certainly believe if the game was played at home or at a neutral venue then the boys would have got up.'
Scrads then addressed this week's game against Elephants, Ricochets and FARK's Belgian Bashers and labelled it a 'must-win'.
'Our clubs are very friendly with each other, we have been involved in several trades and many players have been a part of both teams at some stage. However, I simply will not stand losing to them... This game our players will win for us at all costs. I expect every single player to step up and contribute.'
Rumours have circled in the past that Scrads was dissapointed when he found out that Elephants already had an allocated 'rival' during the pre-season. There are also rumours that Scrads may get the pleasure of facing Elephants and the Bashers in different 'special circumstances' next season and beyond, but they are unclear as of yet.
'I can't mention what is being talked about, all I can say is that the Wolves are currently in discussion with the league about something potentially very special. More news on this will be relayed at the appropriate time.'
'For now, our focus is solely on the four points this weekend.'
Are you also worried that a loss may see you slip down the ladder?? Maybe even more than 1 spot.

Nah bigger priority is beating LE/FARK :P
If we do that then that helps with what you pointed out anyway...
Hahah well played Scradsy :)
Should be an enticing encounter with just the one change to the side that thrashed Torpy last week :D

Full strength teams at a neutral venue will be much closer :)
The Wolves have been inactive throughout the bye period.
Well in the absense, Gary has banged out big scored of 186 and 148, but had a dismal 61.
Other players have hit some nice form like Jason Gram, Brandon Ellis, Steve Johnson, Garrick Ibbotson and Matthew Pavlich.
We have players who have come injury recently which includes: Christian Howard and Andrew Carazzo, where both will look for selection in the senior squad.
Even lower players of the squad in, Jared Petrenko, Sharrod Wellingham, Ayce Cordy and Ian Callinan have hit good form and may push for selection.
With the Wolves currently sitting first by a win and huge percentage, we will look to extend our lead. Expect resting from our stars, as finals are already sown up and some of the easier opposition are coming up.
Injuries from last weekend are: Brent Guerra who got about 5 knocks until he finally got subbed off.
The Wolves have loved the break, but they are eager to get back into the season next week.

1 Macedonian Wolves (Scrads) 8 7 0 1 28 1177 1001 117.58
2 Greek Titans (PB) 8 7 0 1 28 1064 1031 103.20
Not sure where you got that stat from. ???
Also should say sewn up, not sown ;)
I, whatlez the assistant coach of the Macedonian Wolves, have stood down from my position at the club. I have been offered a job at a fellow Euros club that I have taken. Myself and scrads are both fine with the decision and he hopes all the best for me. Due to my leaving, I will miss the inaugural premiership that the Wolves have odviously won. None the less this opportunity is great and I will miss this great club. We hope to have some sort of rivalry in the 2013 season as it is only fitting for great friends who coach as rivals.
On behalf of the Wolves I thank whatlez for his contribution and wish him all the best in his new role.
After almost the entire first season..................... the Wolves finally have a team logo. Check it out in the OP of this thread.
In other news the Wolves players are enjoying their weekend off, their preparation for next weekend big clash will be as professional as possible.
Chris Judd will be a certain inclusion for the Wolves.
That is pretty cool.
time for me to shine in whatlez absence. Good luck in your new roll whatlez

This team is looking at the spoon.
Symes delisted, Iles delisted, Gram sacked, Tippett being an idiot.
Actually did you trade Gram too?

Bit of an exaggeration, Symes and Iles are hardly world-beater losses and not in my best team or even first depth players. Gram was traded, he got me Foley cheaply and Tippett will play next year and hopefully score well as a ruck at GWS.
He's only going to be backing up giles- he won't be rucking much more than usual. Honestly, I'd expect his scores to drop a bit this year if he goes to the giants... he won't get anywhere near the delivery he needs.
Double HH is DPP, so :(

The whole time I told you I was only chasing him because I was 90% sure he was going to be a defender, yiu cant tell me you are that surprised...?
Not. I picked him another one of my teams waiting for DPP>..
OP has been updated to include Rookie List.
In other news, somehow the Wolves have managed to slip under the radar of the league admin and traded useless spud forward Beau Wilkes (who has a career DT average of 53) for a gun replacement forward Beau Maister who is yet to play a game but is expected to average 110. Great coup by the Wolves.

good work Wolves that could turn out to be a Maisterstroke move.
* that's what my humour drops to when im sick and just finished typing over 5000 words in one day for an assisgnment
So the Wolves were pretty much done for the trade period at 11.58pm EDT on the trade deadline...
