Turns out that the McCullum/Watling partnership is the highest 6th wicket partnership of all time! So much for India's amazing 'reformed' pace bowling attack! Ishant back to his normal skill level.

India have been largely woeful in this series really, I really though they had turned a corner in this test when they skittled us for 192 in the first innings and then had us at 90-something for 5, it looked like an innings defeat and a drawn series was on the cards... What happened??

McCullum hits Zaheer Khan for 4 to reach 302*, highest test score from a new zealand batsman. a couple of balls earlier, Jimmy Neesham brings up a century on debut at number 8. What a top notch effort boys.

think NZ should declare and try to bowl India out. India won't score 400+ in 2 and a half sessions. would be one of the great test victories for NZ!

Nah they'll just bat for as long as possible. 1-0 up in a 2 match series, India probably won't get 400 in a couple of sessions but equally unlikely that NZ can bowl them out on a 5th day pitch and only 1 new ball. Drawing this game wins the series, letting them bat allows the outside chance for them to win and level the series. Risk for no real reward...
