Score Updates

Anaheim: 1166/13 add Smith, Brown, Boak, Knight, Mitchell, Sub (currently 7->78) and HGA (currently 7)
Wisconsin: 1432/13 add Hartlett, Dunstan, Shuey, Kennedy, Billings, and Sub (currently 64->Cameron)
Yeah, safe to say this one is all over red rover. Anaheim crash out in #straightsets while the Cockerels keep on rolling. Gawn and Macrae 322 between them (before adding Macrae's CC bonus) - enough said.

Carolina: 1389/14 add Roberton, Martin (c), Henderson, Amon, Sub (currently 63->Atkins) and HGA (currently 63)
Boston: 1194/10 add Laird, Cotchin, R. Gray, Sheed, Redden, Riewoldt, Nankervis, Darling, and sub (Currently 74->119)
I'd say Boston would have the upper hand at the moment, but Dusty's score will likely be the difference tomorrow. If he can manage a score above 135 or so the balance in this match would likely tip back towards Carolina.

Harlem: 485 add Castagna, Acres (c), Membrey, and HGA (currently 34)
North Carolina: 323 add Otten (c) and Stanley
You'd say Harlem are home and hosed here.

Nevada: 638 add Gresham, O'Brien, and HGA (currently 30)
Stanford: 562 add Kelly and Young
Again you'd think Nevada have got this one (thanks to the dodgy naming of De Goey in the ressies!) but you never know - Kelly and Young have pretty high ceilings, but they'd probably both need tons to get up.

Updated after Tigers-Hawks - Wisconsin way ahead; Carolina gain a little ascendency in their clash; Harlem sound off a massive win over North Carolina; and Kelly, Monfries and Young need 80 each for Stanford to snatch the win (it won't happen).

League

Anaheim Mighty Ducks 15.19.109 lost to Wisconsin Cockerels 20.8.128
(Real: 1637 vs 1925)

Massive blowout here. The Ducks were poor, while the Cockerels were sensational. Don group Watson, Colyer, Bellchambers, and Fantasia combining for 124 points was a big knife to Anaheim's heart, while the rest of the side scored well enough for the most part - Heppell the pick of the lot with 134. Jack Macrae was the BOG as Wisconsin Co-Captain with 162, followed closely by Max Gawn with 160 - the two highest scoring players of the round. Duncan and Billings also scored 130+ to hammer home the win.

Best
Anaheim: Heppell, Lewis, Hannebery, Hibberd, Hurley
Wisconsin: Macrae, Gawn, Duncan, Billings, Kennedy
Finals Champion: Jack Macrae

Carolina Panthers 19.9.123 lost to Boston Terriers 20.6.126
(Real: 1843 vs 1894)

Amon and Atkins have fallen apart in the last game for the Panthers, whose depth was exposed as they fall to the Terriers, who were pretty good in their own right as they progress to the Grand Final, while Carolina will stay at home to play Wisconsin next week in a Preliminary Final. Carolina had seven extra 100+ scores than Boston, but were let down by a few poor scorers and Boston were inflated by having Neale's 156 as Captain and Gibbs' 124 as Vice-Captain.

Best
Carolina: Kelly, Bontempelli, Martin, Ryan, Grundy, Menegola, Selwood
Boston: Neale, Gibbs, Smith, Hanley, Gray

Reserves

Harlem Naggers 12.8.86 defeated North Carolina Tar Heels 5.7.37
(Real: 856 vs 369)
Big win by the Naggers as they stay alive and look to play in the Grand Final, as Blake Acres lead the way with 116 as captain, while Dumont and Berry also played well. Sam Reid was great for the Tar Heels but they simply didn't have the troops to compete and went down heavily.

Nevada Desert Coyotes 11.9.75 defeated Stanford Cardinal 10.7.67
(Real: 745 vs 667)
Big scores by the two captains (De Goey 110 and Wright 100) were the story of a pretty good game, although both sides had a very poorer scores that will want to be rectified sooner rather than later. The aforementioned Jordan De Goey was the BOG, while Lynden Dunn's 96 was also influential to getting NDC the victory, while usual stars Watts and Deledio were big letdowns for Stanford, and they won't want any more SEVENs from Angus Monfries...
(Note: my previous post says Nevada scored 799, but they named Lyons in their XVIII and he wasn't named in for Gold Coast so I promoted their first-named reserves player that wasn't captain in Petracca. Didn't make a difference in the outcome of the match of course.)

So our games next week
Carolina Panthers vs Wisconsin Cockerels
and
Stanford Cardinal vs Harlem Naggers
with Boston Terriers and Nevada Desert Coyotes through to their Grand Finals

Well played Boston / Wisconsin.
