The rest are developing. What is everyone elses opinions on our first 22???? Cheers :D
(Once again written on i-phone so please forgive any poor grammar lol)
Tuck would be best 22 IMO but i think his age would be the concern
are you expecting the rookies to get a good chance first up?
Elton for me wouldn't be in the best 22 i expect Miller to take his spot
Mcguane i thought would be ahead of Astbury
the rest look okay
Defs agree with the Tuck point mate. Age is defs the querry but Dimma has spoken out and said that we will be picking the best talented 22 no matter what age the player, so Tucky might be in.
I hope we do cause as i said above with playing the most talented team, Ellis, Morris and also Elton would be on ability/talent in the best 22 easily.
With Elton i put him in for his ability to ruck and take a big contested grab up forward. Miller just creates a contest for the crumbers which works yes...but for our future Elton can do the same, learn and gain good experience early on.
McGuanne does a job ^ like Miller... With a big pre season Astbury should start in the 22. He is stronger, has the ability to be that swingman ala Gilbert, is a better kick, mark and better player than lukey and i think he'll serve number 12 heroically for the next decade.
What do u reckon mate?
i wish ellis was a MPP :(
i think he is the most talented player in the draft
What do you think about O'Hanlon. From what I have read he is pretty much what the Tigers have been missing up front. You don't think he will get an opportunity straight up?
Haha if Ellis was mpp it would be amazing mate. He will definately make an impact next year and i would love to see him win the rising star award!!
Crows i've seen him play a bit and he is going to be a very similar player to rok imo. I hope he gets games next year to show his worth and i think Dimma will put him in early. He will bring a new dimension to the forward line as we will have the crumbers king + nahas, kpf ty + jack then elton/miller (wish we got fev) then O'hanlon to mix it up as a midsize leadup left footer :P
Exciting times ahead if the tigers get up and going.
Grigg a bit stiff for the sub vest I would have thought.
Ok so new look

F/forwards white roo king

Better??? ;)
Conca is all class, I can see him playing 22 games this year. Definitely not a emergency IMO.
Yeah very good point mate, he is having a good pre season and on a wing looks set for big things in 2012. I swear i read somewhere that Dimma wants to play and develop him into a marc murphy type midfielder so if he turns out like that i will be stoked!!!!!
Looking now i would probs take off the irish guy as a sub, get rid of white and elton and bring in Tucky, Conca and Griffiths. However Edwards is reported to be our best pre season performer and has put on 4 kg's, so as much as i hate to say this, he will probs be in the team for the majority of 2012 :/
everyone has forgotten the other backman Kelvin Moore
not surprising tho cause i dont expect him to play again
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/kelvin-moore-ready-to-return-after-six-surgeries/story-e6frf9jf-1226240230782
Kel Moore should get a chance to come back. :)
Maybe i can get some Tiger buffs to help me... where has the love gone for Tom Derickx? Surely they drafted him to play as he was 23ish and clearly has talent around the ground also when you watch his clips. Personally i'm not sold on Maric as the 'lock' ruckman. Obviously Maric will start with the other tall Vickery to help JRoo, but wouldn't Derickx be ahead of Elton at this stage?? His broken fibula was just that - not a nagging soft tissue injury....
who's leg was broken?

who's leg was broken?
Derickx. That's a major reason why he wasn't tried last year.
Newman Moore Rance
Houli Mcguane Connors
Jackson Cotchin Foley
Nahas Vickery Martin
King Riewoldt White
Maric Tuck Deledio
Ellis Batchelor Grigg Conca
Moore might not be right for round 1, so Rance plays FB and Post/Astbury/Grimes come in as 3rd tall.
Connors and his issues might see him miss out. Ellis plays in the 18 and Morris comes into the team.
Tuck might be left out in the cold again. Edwards is the next mid in line.
Elton might get some games if he shows VFL form.
Derickx will get a go if Ivan doesn't produce the goods.
*fingers crossed for connors from a fantasy perspective*
and cause he's in my euros :P

Surely Hardwick won't wreck his teams youth policy and great culture with a knob like Connors :P
Connors is only 24, hardly locking in his retirement home, unlike Podsiadly :P

The youth policy is out the window in 2012. Hardwick says their going to play their best 22 from now on. Connors gets in if it's purely based on talent and ability to make an impact now, rather than in 3 years.
i dont remember there being an article about it.....
there was one recently, cotchin was the one to say so though, not any coaching staff.

I don't make this stuff up.

Pretty sure Hardwick is still a part of the coaching staff.
It's Hardwick's final year on his contract, and there is no doubt that he would have to be focused on winning more than anything else at this stage, so they'll play their best team at all costs or he knows he'll get the boot.
whoops, sorry.
I also read a comment from cotching saying the same thing though.
so, looking legit :P
so Tuck should get games
Not saying Connors will retire he just won't be getting consistent games. He is a fantasy player not a footballer. So many clangers...
So who then will they pick, Ellis or Morris.
I'm tipping Morris should get the nod on the above logic with Ellis waiting in the wings for him to slip up.
Probably both. One will start as the sub, and the other one will get subbed off.
Injuries/suspensions aside ill try and make our best 22 atm. See how close i was pre season

Always forget bloody kel moore!! Lol so good to see bim back
his CHB or are u saying that are put him in
Just saying i always seem to forget putting him in when i write out my opinion on our best side haha
Kel moore is defs in our best 22. Injury free our team on paper looks fantastic
My best 22 (if they were all fit)
FB- Morris Griffiths Rance
HB- Ellis Grimes Newy
C- Houli Martin Lids
HF- Grigg Vickery Titch
FF- King JRoo Nahas
R- Maric Cotch Tuck Int- Foley Conca Batch (S) Cant think of anyone deserving
Hmm interesting to see no moore in defense quinny! Griffiths has been awfully good though back there. He and Elton in a few years along with Vickery, J Roo, Grimes and fingers crossed a fit David Astbury are going to be very important to our structures if we have any hope of being a flag contender! Hopefully they all stay injury free cause their potential is endless

Yeah unfortunatly I think its gone past Moore. Missed his best years, similar to poor Coughlan a few years back.
Just cant see the room for another tall defender pushing 30 years old thats really not up to it.
I know hes just come back and needs a chance, I would still keep him on the list and play in the 2's but I think its more important to develop Rance, Grimes, Griffiths and even Astbury. All young and has the makings of a premier defence
Yeah great answer mate :) im cheering you for it! The foundations are set! Rance is the general and most experienced, moore doesnt need to be there. He can still play a role in their developments through training while playing in the magoos. Gotta say we've had a bad time with injuries the last 10 years or so. Brown brought down in his prime, coughlan was developing into one of the competitions premier mids before injury struck and poor old kel who was a very important part of our defense. Hopefully the nucleus we have now of dusty, lids, cotch, roo (who needs a spray), grigg, houli, morris, grimes, vickery, ellis, conca, griffiths, rance and ellis stay Tiger players and create a consistent contender over the next decade :D
