First rookie pick is Sam Shaw, an administrative decision in relation to the pending CBA and Sam's access to welfare assistance #crowsdraft

Fair enough, his concussion symptoms must be pretty bad

Looks like Carlton didn't redraft Ciaran Sheehan after re-committing to him in the article relating to his delisting. Rather annoyed for XV list management reasons but surely thats a pretty big dog act?

Yeah he has. They did it to take up a list spot and help out the salary squeeze they have. Saw it somewhere not long ago

I like the fact we are looking after the kid doing what we can for him.

Yup. The reason for this is he can't stay on the park and we are likely to have a spare spot open with Byrne having the ACL. If he is healthy he will likely be elevated to the senior list and is a good chance to start the year off half back.

Carlton sticking with the family affair, SOS drafts his cousin Alex Silvagni. This is what he said about our recruits.

"We lost Michael Jamison and Zach Tuohy out of our defence and in the drafts we've brought in seven 18-year-olds, which includes Kym (LeBois) as one of our rookies, so we felt we needed to bring some maturity through the door, which is where Alex (Silvagni) fits in. He's a great character and a real workhorse and with 27 players with under 50 games' experience on our list we just needed to give those kids some support. We didn't see a lot of Andrew (Gallucci) this year but he came back after the break in fantastic condition, so we just felt we needed to give him an opportunity."

It makes a lot of sense because our key backs are all quite young. Rowe is the only real old head back there and White is that tweener size so it was probably necessary to bring in a big body. Worst case he provides a bit for our VFL side and allows the young guys to develop naturally.
