The CW Preseason Cap

The CW Preseason Cap is named in honour of the Inaugural Administrator of the AXVs Competition, Colliwobblers. Colli will always be remembered by Asians everywhere for his commitment to the AXVs competition.

Honour Board:
2013 - UAE TIgers
2014 - Kuala Lumpur Crocs

The preseason competition will start on Wednesday the 26th of February and will be run in the following format.

Qualifying Round

The 18 teams split into 4 groups, based on premiership ladder from last year.

Group A: 1, 5, 9, 13
Group B: 2, 6, 10, 14
Group C: 3, 7, 11, 15
Group D: 4, 8, 12, 16

1st Highest Scoring Team v 4th Highest Scoring Team
2nd Highest Scoring Team v 3rd Highest Scoring Team

The 20 best scores of your squad from the MIDDLE 9 matches of the NAB Challenge count towards your total. BOMBERS vs SAINTS on the 7th of March will be the first match of this round. PIES vs BLUES on the 15th March will be the last match of the round. See the NAB fixture here (http://www.afl.com.au/fixture/nab-challenge).

I'll update these in the team lists throughout the day

The remaining AFL games in this round are
Freo v Melb
Sydney v Brisbane
GWS v Gold Coast

Which actually throws up a curve ball. Some of these teams have already.

Thoughts on how to approach this? I can restructure Round 1 to stop now, but then not all teams have played. Or I can keep Brisbane and Suns scores handy, only to be used for the Round 2 of this comp. Would mean bringing Port Adelaide and Essendon into this first round.

So the last 3 games of the Qualifying Round would actually be

Freo v Melb
Sydney v Brisbane Essendon
GWS v Gold Coast Port Adelaide

And the fixtures for the Semi Finals would be
GC v Brisbane (from Round 1)
Essendon v Saints
Port Adelaide v West Coast
Saints v West Coast
North v Hawks
Cats v Crows
GWS v Essendon
Bullies v Melbourne
Richmond v Port
Sydney v Freo
Pies v Carlton

I think whatever is easier for you mate, as you are doing all the work whilst we are sitting back here doing nothing ;)

I think ideally it would be good to have all teams scores included once per round, but I'm not going to push too hard for it seeing I'm not doing any of the collating ;)

How did the Llamas not make it >:(  With all our players Viney, Trengove, Otten, Thurlow, Wingard ect not playing :P

Bad news for Tommy Lynch again but it looks like we've found a few in Evens, Vandenburg, Lyons and big Zac Smith ready to dominate!

But injuries :-[  Trengove, Otten and the Shag already out long term, means we can upgrade the likes of Evens, Vandenberg and Fitzpatrick though! Just need Tommy Lynch and Chad the Boss to recover well and we are flying! Clay Smith would help the injured bugger ::)

But i'll give you two Llama names to remember! Jarred Lyons and Troy Menzel!!

That's crap, got put into the toughest group and came third :(

Would've topped two of the other three leagues, and missed out on topping the third by two points.

Ahhhh well, positive signs overall though :)

Looks like our score was about average in the end, not too bad I guess.

Not too upset though, considering it was the Strikers who advanced and we all know the season they had last year.

The worst bit was losing Big Easy for the season.  :'(

Rusty and JROO you'll need to name your best 15 as per normal rules by tomorrow. It'll be a rolliing lockout since so many boys get cut from the squad

Seeing that it's a pre-season game, do you mind lending them to the Head Hunters? At least for the second half?

flower, hahah.
I thought they might sub him off at HT or something, why risk the best player in the comp?

It's rolling lockout anyway, so I can still get his score right?

Can't loophole though. So if the boys you've named in DEF don't play, then yep definitely.

JRoo With his second Cap :o  Ah Mitch Wallis, the player I picked because team-mate Libba was suspended for drugs ::)

Well Libba is gonsky for the year and Wallis traded for Hill a while back so

It becomes Injured Libba v Brad Hill v Let loose Wallis :P

I think I like my decision as it is, given Libba WAS suspended for drugs when I picked MW instead! But I like Hill ;D

Score one for the LLamas
