Thought I'd start a thread to get the A-League discussion going for the upcoming season.

Realised there were no prizes for Foxsports :/
And i didn't really like the prizes for official A-League, all centred around tangible prizes rather than money.
So have joined up for the Real Dream Team one to test the waters.

Pretty keen for this! All kicks off on Thursday! Don't have hugely high hopes for Glory, but I'm always keen this time of year nonetheless 8)

Stole this from the EPL thread...

Title Winner: Victory (as much as it disgusts me to say)
Bottom Place: Newcastle Jets (just cant get their shower together)
2015/16 Overachievers: Wellington (always seem to do better than everyone expects)
2015/16 Underachievers: Melbourne City (sorry MCFC fans!)
Signing of the Season:
Predicted Golden Boot winner (highest goalscorer):
Predicted Golden Glove winner (GK with most clean sheets):
Predicted Player of the Year: O.Bozanic (I overrate so much haha)
Predicted Breakout Player: O.Bozanic I guess haha

Go, go, go lads!

Also, tipping a 2-2 draw in the first match of the season ;)

P.S looked at rdt wow they barely have prizes as well fantasy soccer seems to be going backwards

They have had prizes every other year Luigi maybe they think more people will play with no prizes  ::) seriously thinking about giving it a miss this year , i will look at RDT now mate  ;)

Title Winner: Melbourne Victory (balancing AFC only concern)
Bottom Place: Central Coast Mariners (Jets and Roar won't do that much better)
2015/16 Overachievers: Western Sydney Wanderers (I like Popovic and the squad isn't bad. will recover from last season)
2015/16 Underachievers: Adelaide United (Though i rate them, there is every chance they could flop)
Signing of the Season: Vukovic to Victory will give them some much needed reassurance down back.
Golden Boot winner: Besart Berisha (hard to go past him)
Golden Glove winner: Janjetovic (usually pretty solid)
Predicted Player of the Year: Mooy (will shine bright like a diamond. not a doubt in the world)
Predicted Breakout Player: Jimmy Jeggo (has a solid A-League foundation and may have just settled comfortably in to the Adelaide side)

How good a quality was that Roar v WS match Thursday? Really had me excited for the new season! (Meant to post Thursday but got distracted)

United v Victory never got going but it was still high class football which is the main thing imo ;)

In short, the AU to go undefeated all year!

A lot of errors in the WSW v Roar game, but there was a lot of quality too from the Roar.

The CCM v Glory match though. Mariners played surprisingly well!

Defense way too shaky. Playing a high line and tackles were not sticking, or otherwise sticking in the wrong places.
Fernandez looked OK and Castro was a bit tentative, but their quality is there. Once they get used to the aussie game a bit more they'll fit in nicely.
Garcia's header though was mint  :-*

Finally, some proof you kids need to toughen up! Some ratbags were banned for good reason yet some overly sensitive patrons feel the need to abandon A-League matches .....

Toughen the fairy up princesses! Get into the real world! Sheesh ::)

Where should Aaron Mooy move in January? Would be be picked up by a top tier comp like the EPL or is he better off going to a Dutch or Belgium type club?

I do like watching City though mainly just to see Mooy strut his magic 8)

Alright, I'll start off by saying I know almost nothing about soccer.
But this, this is ridiculous,
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-02-11/a-league-flares-western-sydney-wanderers-ffa-david-gallop/7159564
How on earth can you penalise the team because of the behaviour of the crowd?
I could be a Melbourne fan, who wears a Sydney shirt, and goes and lets off a flare to stuff the opposition over!
Insanity!

I assume punishing the club has something to do with what used to happen with all the ethnic teams in the old NSL.

Get flowered Victory :P >:D (Actually, just Kevin Muscat can get flowered, some of the players are probably decent blokes)

Uuuuuuuunnnniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiteeeedddddd!

Great atmosphere at the Oval, the Wanderers fans certainly are hard core supporters.

What a turn around, without a win after the first 8 rounds, to Champions!
