can add Blake Acres as well

That's fantastic news, 4 years!
yeh they're not flowering around with locking away their kids are they

Would you, if you had a team full of young kids?
Well it depends.
You don't want a walkout to happen like what Brissie went through
But also some of those kids might not develop and come on as expected. But at that level clubs will know which players have what it takes, so it shouldn't happen.

FA is certainly changing the way clubs do things now

very very excited about Blacres. don't even know how many times I've read that he "could be the pick of the '13 crop".

Hence why Lewis Pierce is only contracted to the end of next year. Hasn't played a senior game yet... And all the other that have signed on show great potential and obviously St Kilda aren't going to let them slide away if they become early stars

Yeh don't disagree with you there, but there is some element of risk signing kids so young on long deals.

Imagine if Palmer was offered a 4+ year deal after winning the rising star. He's one example of a great junior who hasn't come on as expected. Now just a role player in a young side

Yeah that's true... But i've never liked Palmer haha. But if the Saints aren't confident in what the kids can do they will just put them on the trade table... As sad as it sounds. I won't be surprised if sometime this week it'll be the same for Billings, and give him a 4 year deal.

Spinking

Great to see the kids being offered long contracts. Was surprised about Acres - know he is highly rated and did a few quality things with his chances but it's a big contract for a bloke who has played only a handful of games. Could be a great move, but there is some risk there.

Acres is going to be the next Pendlebury. They both move in the same way

Pendles is going to wish he was as good as Acres in a few years.  8)

Nige

Eli has signed a two-year deal and has also been elevated to the senior.

I think we can expect Mav Weller to also be elevated soon as well.
