Title: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on May 06, 2014, 10:23:42 PM
brad gave up his SC team least week and has asked me to help take control of his side. The side is well positioned in terms of league wins with a record of 5-0 and a soft run of match-ups. 20 trades left, $205,200 in cash.

Trades before receiving the side

Round 3
Clurey>Georgiou
JKH>Taylor

Round 4
Thurlow>Currie
Michie>Kelly

Round 5
Caddy>Fasolo
Leuenberger>Jacobs

Round 6
Langdon>Cutler
Tyson>JPK

That left 22 trades and about 20k in cash to work with

I then made these two trades to cut dead weight/generate some cash to work with

Round 7
X. Ellis>Gardiner (using Hanley)
Rohan>Z. Merrett

The team currently looks like this

Only 14 or so players for round 11 so whoever comes in for Mitchell should be round 9 bye - ? Burgoyne, Birchall or Bob or Hurn.

I think McDonald could go. Cash cow in Hallahan might be worth picking up. Gets a game this week and makes money for the team.

I would start saving trades if you can though at 5 - 0.

So with moves I have to make, I am thinking at least a double downgrade, I am contemplating

McDonald>Hartung/Acres/O'Rourke
Dunstan>Hartung/Acres/O'Rourke

Newton is the other name that stands out for Port but I am thinking he is perfect in round 13 as he will be on the bubble for Aish so I can upgrade Kelly

Doing the double downgrade gives me 500k to play with for my upgrades. Looking at the best 22 as it stands before making any trades

Simpson, Swallow, Mitchell, Hanley, Suckling, Cutler Bench: Georgiou, Gardiner
Ablett, Pendles, Beams, Murphy, JPK, Polec, Aish, Dunstan Bench: McDonald, Kelly
Sandilands, Jacobs Bench: Currie, Nankervis
Dangefield, Martin, Spuddy, Higgins, Fas, Taylor Bench: Impey, Merrett

So with Mitchell's injury he has to be traded out and I am assuming the same has to be done with Fas. Counting the guys in an ideal world I need to upgrade, D5, D6, M6, M7, M8, F4, F5, F6 which is a total of 8, 9 including Mitchell's injury. I think with a total of 20 trades I am going to have to hold onto guys like Suckling as my D5/6. Ideally if I had luxury trades I would piss Buddy and Martin out of the sides but being short on trades I will have to stick with them

Assuming the guys I have in my side that played or are expected back get games, I can keep Mitchell a week. I have 6 defenders even though 3 of them are not very good as they are expecting Hanley back, 6 mids which makes it a total of 12, 1 ruck, 5 forward if Spuddy comes up giving me 18. McDonald is gone, the 3 guys I am looking at are listed below to maximize my cash generation, Dunstan is the other one I am looking to ship off as well. I am hoping to bring Hurn in after his bye when his B/E is low. With such low trades and not a hell of a lot in cash generating rookies in the back half I need to wait until he hits rock bottom so I can bring him in. Harry Taylor is the other one I want to look at over the next couple of weeks, so I can either swap Mitchell to someone like McVeigh/Hibberd/Malceski/Birchall/Bob or downgrade him to Hurn in 2 weeks and then bring in a cheaper guy like Taylor for Cutler

Certainly hold Martin for now.

Hartung's JS worries me. Hallahan seems a better pick.

Acres' bye is a worry looking at that line up.

Acres' bye is a worry looking at that line up.

Being short on cash I can't afford to trade Martin

With Acres I am losing Dunstan and then Aish will get dumped out round 10 (Newton or premo) leaving Acres and JPK as my only mids out for that week. My back half is screwed that round on the other hand which makes me think Mitchell has to go for a round 8 or 9 guy. With Hallahan/Hartung, if Hartung can maybe play 4 or so games in a row I will take it, he will become mid 10 after the byes and that should help me out

If Dunstan plays this week, you'd hold him?
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on May 06, 2014, 11:05:46 PM
Bleeding cash. Since I need to make quite a few upgrades I need to try and make as much cash as possible in those situations. As long as I can field 18 this week Dunstan is expendable and in terms of a cash perspective this week is the best to trade him out. If I can pump up my cash to 500k, that allows me to make 2 midfield upgrades, 1 forward upgrade and maybe a back option as well, if Dunstan loses say 40k this week that is one potential mid upgrade down the drain. Being 5-0 I can afford to take a hit over the byes to try and get as much cash into the bank as possible for upgrades.

Sounds a good plan.

Acres is a worry though because he isn't quite on the bubble and that can go pear shaped.

Hallahan - if selected this Friday and not sub will be my target. I'll get Acres on the bubble later.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team

O'Rourke worries me more then Acres. He has a bye the following week and was subbed out on the weekend. When you see a guy like Dylan Shiel is running around in the 2's I worry he will get dropped. From what I have seen, Saints have a few injury issues and Acres has had form in the VFL. I am interested to see the Hawks side this weekend as well, I think once the teams come out it will make more sense.

I have got a watch list of guys to bring in pending prices and form

Guys like Boyd and Joey I have no chance as they are way too pricey but the guys that look underpriced and could hit some form

Hurn
Watson
NRoo
Jack
Roughy
Griffen
Wingard
Jack Steven
Shannon Hurn

Parker is a bit pricey at the moment but he looks a good get as well

Broadbent and Hansen could be good cheaper options as a bit of a POD. Broadbent has averaged 91.2 if you take out his round 1 score he started as the sub, Hansen has a good finals run and if he plays loose man the rest of the season like he did at the back end of 2013 he could average 95+

Cloke and Petrie are both horribly out of form but if they are the best I can afford with their high ceilings they might be the way to go, but for my forward line I think I am going to hitch myself to the Tex Walker wagon and have him as my F6.

I am going to go to the drawing board tonight, I am working until 6.30 tomorrow night so will likely be home by 7.15 which will cut it tight. I am curious to see the Sunday teams before making a couple of decisions.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on May 09, 2014, 01:53:23 AM
I think O'Rourke is going to get dropped looking at those sides. Ambrose adds something into the equation but I don't think I can trust him. I could swing Taylor into the mids and keep Impey but it doesn't really seem like there is any point although an Impey downgrade could be the option since he has such a high B/E (although I am stuck with 4 round 10 forwards). Mitchell in the side makes me think that Impey will get a full game, but Freo are tough and I can't see him scoring more then 40

I'll sleep on it, but basically what I think the toss up moves are as any of these three combos allows me to field 18

Dunstan>Acres
McDonald>Hartung/Hallihan
Impey>Ambrose

or

Dunstan>Acres
McDonald>Ambrose via Taylor
Mitchell>Round 12 premo

or

Dunstan>Acres
McDonald>Hallihan/Hartung
Mitchell>Round 12 premo

Lloyd is the other one at the Swans but his JS is questionable and I would prefer Hallihan since he is cheaper. I think you are right Doc that if Hallihan is not the sub he is the one to go with out of those two, but if Hartung and Hallihan both manage to escape kermit that throws in a bit of a twist.

It really depends on your league opponent Mat, does he have 18? Unless you are aiming for overall?

I like the third option.

Don't trust Ambrose and reckon he will become dead weight soon.

So I am having to work a bit on the fly, I am thinking this

McDonald>Acres is done

I am thinking Dunstan>Ambrose using Taylor into the mids and then hold the other trade or I can do this instead

Impey>Ambrose
Dunstan to premo mid
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on May 10, 2014, 02:15:12 AM
Since I got stuck at work and arrived home after the game started I have had to change the trade and captain plans

Initially I wanted to go with option 3 which was

Dunstan>Acres
McDonald>Hallihan
Mitchell>Birchall

I figured since I f'ed up this week and I can't get in Hallihan or trade Mitchell out I would continue on my cash accumulation mission. I pulled the trigger on McDonald>Acres and Dunstan>Ambrose using Taylor. That's left me with 18 trades and 580k in the bank. That leaves me to turn Mitchell into a round 8 or 9 bye mid (can't go 10 as I am missing too many players already that round with most of my backs round 10), if Fasolo is not back I can turn him into a premium forward or go risky and bring in Walker if he plays and the last move would be to turn Kelly into a premo mid. Round 10 upgrade Aish and figure out what to do with Taylor

I have also tried to salvage something in terms of captains since I didn't put the VC on JPK. I have gone Sandi VC into Murph at the moment which I am not happy with. Earlier today I figured 'sure I should be home by 7', boy was I wrong. This is why I didn't start my own team this year

hey Mat, just thinking maybe I could help you out in these situations.  if you don't think you will have time to make the trades, send us a PM and I'll do them for ya. I'll give you complete control of the team, but yeah I'll complete the trades if needed

thanks again btw man. like how you've made some good coin so far

Next week I should be fine but the Friday after I am working late again. The issue I have is there is no internet in the old office. By the look of it you are going to be 6-0 anyway, it is just trying to get the best rookies into the side and I am spewing I missed on Hallihan. I'll post the trade plans in this thread and PM you the day I am working late before I go to work if I am intending to make trades based on that nights game. If you notice I haven't made them by 7.30 it means I am stuck at work and just pull the trigger

Title: Re: Help save brad's team

So the Acres trade worked out to an extent. He looked awful and got subbed but he scored well. Dunstan managed to hit his B/E but for 3k I don't care too much.

I am looking at trades for this week. I can currently field 18 if all my players return from their bye and the guys that played last week play again. That is not counting Fasolo and Georgiou who could be inclusions but I highly doubt.

Looking at my backline, I still have Mitchell, I can't trade him to a round 10 guy as I have 4 guys out that week already, it has to be a round 8 or 9 guys. I am not a fan of any of the round 8 guys other then maybe Harry Taylor, but he is a huge risk with how poorly he has been scoring. I am looking at round 9 guys even though they are on bye and I think Hurn is the guy. I make 100k, he has pretty much scored close to 100 every week he has played a full game, he has a low B/E so I just sit him on the bench and it saves me making the trade next week.

I am going to get rid of Polec this week as well. Selwood is the guy I really want, but Freo and a high B/E, nah pass. I can probably pick him up quite a bit cheaper later and try and find another option. I am again thinking of going risky this week and going for Nicky Dal. He has the 3rd highest average of the round 8 guys I don't have (Stevie J and Selwood 1 & 2), but with an almost finished midfield I see it as a potential waste of a trade.

I will update later in the week once I think about it further

Title: Re: Help save brad's team

I decided planning for next week was the best option. I decided to go risky and Dal was not the guy, I was seriously considering Tex a couple weeks early, then my brain got the better of me and I reversed the trade. I have brought in 2 guys playing next week and that is because I was looking pretty screwed with the byes

The trades so far

Mitchell>Hurn
Fasolo>Wingard
Georgiou>Tippett

Not a Tippett fan but he has been named and I only need him for 2 games.

It has left me with 17 players next week before trades, 19 this week minus late withdrawals. I have also thrown the VC on Beams for the hell of it. I still have $638,000 in cash which is key for future upgrades and my league opponent this week has Zac Dawson, enough said. I figured I am going to win the matchup, I might as well take a couple of risks to see how I am going to jump in terms of overall.

Cameron is on the radar. The more cash I can get into this side the better. Being limited on trades I need to keep maximising the cash making potential of rookies and trying to pick up under priced players. There is a large chunk of the season to go, so some of the underdone guys like Jack Steven might be worth a look later on.

As much as I wanted Dal/Tex, I knew getting Tex in now was stupid while he wasn't on the bubble and when I look at the mids I see better 'scoring options' compared to Dal. I just have this gut feeling he will push over a 115 average, but I see other guys like Joey, Boyd, Rockliff, Selwood, Stevie J, Watson and even Kieren Jack that I want to fit into this side. I think knowing that this is still technically not my side has me thinking risky. A few of the risks  I took last season placed me pretty well in the end so I will more often then not go with my gut.

Plan looks solid Matt but I'd expect Tippett to get dropped soon but oh well, need 18 on field.

Cameron looking very good for a downgrade.

I don't know about Tex yet.

Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on May 16, 2014, 07:11:12 PM
Tippett was only a two week pickup. It was between him and Georigou rotting on my bench, I figured if I can make 50k and hope he plays next week it is worth it. Aylett wasn't an option with a round 10 bye, Litherland might get a game next week but didn't want to sit on it this week as I will need all 3 next week to try and use my cash wisely. No way Georgiou comes back in with all of the Dees KPD's healthy so he is dead weight, post byes my D8 should hopefully not see the field for a while.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team

That Merrett trade has been a ripper so far. Not only did I make 20k bringing him in, I got rid of Rohan who wouldn't have scored what Merett did in his last two games all season. He should also have a nice little price rise and be a stepping stone to a potential premium in a few weeks.

it's a tough one. I have no idea what Montagna's price is but he will be losing a fair chunk of cash over the next couple weeks due to the score today, while Jacky is just a little gun and looks to be playing himself into form, but with that comes the tags and that might affect his scores. to be completely honest I don't really know what a tag will do to him. Steven might be the better option I reckon. Joey should be at a nice price is a few weeks though
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on May 18, 2014, 08:00:26 PM
Joey I would wait for him to bottom out in 4 weeks, if I get on Steven it would be in around 2 weeks time just after his bye. Joey was priced at 645k prior to this round, Steven 501k and should drop further. In terms of value, Jack Steven just seems ridiculously priced. He scored 131 today and seems to be improving the more he plays. The bye will help him as well, I just keep looking at his price and it looks too good to pass up....

This week the plan is

Aish>Selwood
Kelly>Hartung
????

Next week
Polec>Jack Steven
?????

One of those two question mark trades will possibly be either Taylor Walker or Charlie Cameron

I am thinking Impey>Cameron this week and then Higgins>Walker the week after.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team

Higgins has an achievable break even so would do the Impey one this week. Impey has virtually maxed out.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on May 19, 2014, 07:46:31 PM
I figure even if Impey is named and not the sub he will score around 40 (B/E of 37 from memory) so he will likely not go up to much.

Cannot really fault those trades man. Cameron this week, I am not 100% convinced by Tex yet but if he fires again this week, don't see why not. Especially considering you are tight for trades.

Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on May 23, 2014, 01:28:53 AM
I was thinking that Lloyd being dropped was going to cost me a chance at fielding 18 this week, then I remembered I don't have Lloyd when I logged in and saw my team (http://content.boards.philadelphiaeagles.com/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.png)

By the look of it, the outs have been kind. I still have 18 starting, I am not sure if I hold off on the Aish/Kelly>Hartung trade and see if he is the sub, but there are not any mid rookies on the horizon apart from Shenton (better FWD option) unless Michie comes back next week or someone like Riley/Beams in a couple.

I am going to keep that trade spare and trade Impey out for Cameron as long as there are no really bad late outs by the Saturday night game.

The main reason I am posting is to let brad know I am working tomorrow night but the team should be fine. I have locked in the 2 trades, will make the 3rd on Saturday, I have set VC Pendles into Captain Gaz, so all should be right even if I do finish late.

I could actually bring in Fyfe and Rockliff this week, finish my midfield and have 233 k spare with only one forward and defender spot left to upgrade if you count Suckling and Higgins in a final squad.........

I'll post a pic later brad, but I got no idea what we should be doing. There are way to many options

Merrett has been killing it, he would have been one of my best pickups around the byes. For a player priced under 200k I have had scores of 73 and 89. He looked really good against the Swans and a low B/E so I am going to hold him until he tops out. The initial plan was to offload him to Parker in a couple of weeks so you got that part of the trade right, just the wrong player :P

Polec is being offloaded this week, I am just unsure to which player. I have the cash to bring in two top priced premiums in the next couple of weeks and still have some cash in the bank. I think the decision is going to be who are the right guys

So we have

Goddard
Fyfe
Rockliff
Watson
Joey
Boyd
Libba
Jack Steven
Griffen
Ward
Stevie J
Hanners
K Jack
Dal
Sloane
Barlow
Nate Jones
Treloar

I have 2 spots left in my midfield, I need to ignore price and pick the best 2 of those guys

I would take 2 of Fyfe, Watson, Stevie J (hoping he has no brain fades) or Rocky (Lions have an easier draw as well here),

Post by: GoLions on May 26, 2014, 03:13:30 PM
What Ringo said, although I'd have SJ/Rocky/Fyfe a bit ahead of Watson

Fyfe or Rocky this week, SJ in 2 weeks once he's gone down like 100k :P

Post by: Vinny on May 26, 2014, 05:20:39 PM
Fair enough man, I wasn't aware that Merrett had such a long breakeven.

I'd go one of Fyfe/Rocky and Goddard/Watson. I just have doubts over SJ, but if you were to go him, you'd definitely have to wait for the price drop.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on May 27, 2014, 06:18:43 PM
Looking at averages Fyfe and Rockliff are the two must gets. Both averaging close to 120, picking them up gives me 7 of the top 8 mids in terms of averages which is crazy (Murph the only one averaging under). What I am thinking of doing is going through each of the guys on that list and creating a strength of schedule analysis. I basically go through and write down the number of top tier taggers they face, what position they are in line to be tagged, a strength of schedule, percentage owned, a 3 and 5 round average with all their scores for those rounds

This should give me a better idea then just looking at a players average although I have a feeling Fyfe and Rockliff are still going to be close to the top 2.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on May 27, 2014, 11:17:54 PM
I am thinking Fyfe is a lock. I did the calculations, he hasn't dropped under the ton a single game this season, the only other premo to do that is Goddard if you don't count his injury game. The two teams with the best remaining fixture for SC are Sydney and Freo. Kieren Jack is the other name that is looking really tempting. 122 average in the last 3, 117 in the last 5, 6 over 100, 3 of those over 120, 2 under 100, 1 under 80, avoids Crowley/Caff the rest of the year.

I also threw Bryce Gibbs in there for the hell of it, his numbers over the last month stack up real well, but from now until the end of the season I have given him a 7/13 rating in terms of top line defensive teams/taggers he has to face. If anyone wants it I am happy to send you my spreadsheet.

man I hope you're back in time Mat

Cutler out so I'm not sure if you want to trade him out, or upgrade Taylor to Rockliff or even Jack (very easy run home for the Swans, where as Rockliff goes to Geelong for round 23)

please be back in time :P
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Bill Manspeaker on May 29, 2014, 07:04:13 PM
alright looks like I gotta make the choice. I reaaaaaaaaally think Jack would probably be the better option, but I'm gonna go with Taylor -> Rockliff. just because it's probably the safe option.

sorry if this turns out bad mate  :-\

also leaving Cutler there. have to play Gardiner though. should win this week easily anyway
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: GoLions on May 29, 2014, 07:05:46 PM
Might not be the best week to get Rocky, doesn't have a good history against the Blues. I'd probably get Fyfe this week tbh
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Bill Manspeaker on May 29, 2014, 07:08:15 PM
yeah he's already gone to Fyfe. Polec -> Fyfe is complete, but he's asked me to do the other trade if he's not back in time, and it's cutting it pretty close  :-\

alright, Rockliff is in. I don't think Cutler out will matter, hopefully Gardiner can score at least 50.

have $233,400 remaining

hope this is the right choice mate

Yeah my bad. I got back and saw the teams with 10 minutes to spare, I figured you just held off on making the trade then saw Rockliff in and reversed it. I was going to just hold the 2nd trade this week but figured with Cutler out and Tippet an LTI it was worth getting Bews in. I probably should have made it clearer that if I was short in a position like 2 defenders out make a trade then otherwise hold it, it was pretty funny going back and reading you panicking (http://content.boards.philadelphiaeagles.com/public/style_emoticons/default/laugh.png)

Sorry mate

Wingard, Jacobs, no Rockliff, getting Bews and wasting a trade, no Shenton, bring in Fyfe and he drops under 100 for the first time this year. brad do you want the team back?
Title: Re: Help save brad's team

nah you've just been a bit unlucky mate, you've done well to produce all this cash and now the fun starts for ya. Fyfe just had a down week, he will still be one of the better midfielders this year

I don't think I have it in me man  :-\ honestly lost interest in SC this year. of course I'll take it back if you don't wanna do it anymore but to be honest there's a good chance I'll probably just flower up your good work just by not really caring sorta thing.

up to you mate

3 upgrades left holding Higgins and Suckling. Once those are done I will hand it back with any trades I have left over. If Cutler plays this week I will hold him (pending sub) and will upgrade Taylor to a premium mid this week. I am tempted to bring in Tex but I think I am going to have to skip him. I was enjoying watching football without having to worry about SC and my tips both going to crap in the same week  :P

Bloody Gold Coast and West Coast, those were the two 50/50 games I had and I got both wrong ::)

It's no problem mate, the team should be good to go, all you will have to do is captains and trades if there are any LTI's
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on June 06, 2014, 01:11:20 AM
Gone the 1 move this week. Taylor>Jack. As much as I want to bring in Tex again he has a bad matchup this week and Merrett still has money to make. Rockliff is now too pricey so I will hold off and settle for a midfield of Ablett, Pendles, Beams, JPK, Murphy, Jack and Fyfe.  I was tossing up between Stevie J, Jack and BJ. I don't know if I can trust Johnson and I like Jack's run home.

Next week I will upgrade Merrett to Parker since Parker should drop a fraction and Merrett should have another nice price rise. I might also do a downgrade so I can afford Cutler to a premo defender.

brad if you prefer Stevie J or BJ I can reverse the trade and bring one of them in.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team

as you said, can't really trust Stevie J. BJ I'm just not sure about

If Bryce keeps doing what he did against the Cats he might be a real good POD for someone else. Blues do have a tough run but he has been trending upwards the last 8 weeks. It would take a lot of balls to make this move but it could pay off with a huge reward come the end of the season

I updated the original post, 9 trades left, 2 upgrades needed. D6 is the big need, Higgins will be my luxury trade if he misses this week. Ibbo is the guy I am watching in defense. Midfield is done, Rucks are done, Parker ASAP
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on June 12, 2014, 12:42:41 AM
I had a look at B/E's the only trade I might consider this week is Hartung>mid rookie for coverage and some sneaky cash. My forward rookies still look pretty good and have cash to make, Missy might be worth holding onto as well, Ibbo should drop in price and it will be good to monitor how he goes this week with no Johnson/McPharlin.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on June 13, 2014, 06:10:23 PM
Hartung>O'Brien it is. I think with Ambrose/Z. Merrett/Cameron in my forward line I can skip the Governor. I might be able to squeak out Cutler>Ibbo next week and Merrett>Parker but will be left with basically no cash.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team

Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on June 15, 2014, 09:55:52 PM
Updated the OP. I am tempted to get in Stef Martin for ruck coverage even though I lack a DPP in the rucks to swap him with. Higgins has to go, he is reverting to spud form, Parker I can wait two weeks on due to his poor score.

I am thinking

Higgins>Martin
Merrett>Gray

Next week Cutler>best available defender

Week after Currie>Thurlow
Ambrose>Parker

It leaves me with 3 trades for LTI's and a full team of premiums (including Suckling) with coverage on every line hopefully.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on June 20, 2014, 06:17:14 PM
I completely forgot I made the Higgins>Martin and Merrett>Gray trades. They look pretty good for this week. I can get Parker cheap in a couple for Ambrose and then just upgrade Cutler for a D6 and I am set.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on June 21, 2014, 07:45:08 PM
So although Higgins to Gray is probably favouring not having pulled the trigger this week, Merrett sub has made the trade worth it.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team

The current team, 6 trades $318,900

I got no idea what you want to do brad but D6 needs to be sorted. I wanted to get in Parker but don't have the cash with Ambrose. Ben Brown might be an option if he makes it to the bubble for Currie.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Vinny on June 23, 2014, 10:30:16 AM
Think you just have to pass on Parker man, Martin is alright at F6, at least wait until he tops out and upgrade him.

I'd just upgrade Bews to Hibberd. Obviously he has not made much cash but Gardiner and Cutler is a stronger bench than Bews and one of the two.

Cutler is killing in the 2s and seems he is in and out and on the verge of the Brissy 22.

Looks good otherwise.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on June 24, 2014, 12:34:06 AM
I was going to palm off Cutler since he is priced the highest and has vest written all over him. Both his and Bews JS blow, at least Gardiner gets a game every week unsubbed (although I saw he was just subbed off injured). Hibbo was the one I was looking at, but he is expected to miss this week so I have to hold off with him if I do make the move this week.
Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Bill Manspeaker on June 26, 2014, 10:15:23 PM

Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Mat0369 on June 27, 2014, 01:08:03 AM
Cutler to Hibbo is affordable. Gardiner will be back next week to cover D7. Could you make the trade for me if it is not done by 7.30? I should be home from work but want to stay on the safe side. If Hibbo is out leave it be and I will decide after the game. I'll let Bews be my emergency

I just touched up the VC (Gaz) and the loopholes. Team is yours after this round. I would have liked to get Parker in but Martin should do at F6 meaning the team is set. Ben Brown in for Currie next week might be the only trade you should do so you can cover R3 with Martin.

just logged in to check it out, that looks a lot better than when I left it. thanks for this man, I probably would've just given it away (or at least just stuffed it right up) so you've saved me from that.

if the team gets any prizes, weekly award or whatever, it's all yours man. wouldn't feel right taking it after you done all the hard work. but I'm never lucky enough to win the weekly award so don't think it'll happen anyway :P

Nah I am done and going to enjoy the rest of the season without caring about fantasy scores like I originally intended. Plus I had a good week to finish off scoring 2600 odd and moving up to about 2.5k in the rankings. I haven't left you with a lot of cash or much coverage in the mids/defense (Gardiner, Bews, O'Brien, Acres) so it might need a couple of trades and luck with outs. The 22 looks good though
Title: Re: Help save brad's team

alright so the other bloke is 151 ahead, he has got 6 unique to play, I've got 7 plus a captain
Simpson vs McVeigh
Franklin vs McGovern
Jack vs Bartel
Murphy vs Stevie J
Hurn vs Boyd
Kennedy vs Kennedy
Selwood

now obviously both have JPK, but at the moment I have him selected as captain... so...

my question is, should I keep the C on JPK? and, how is it looking for the W

Title: Re: Help save brad's team
Post by: Bill Manspeaker on July 31, 2014, 11:51:45 PM
true I should probably post the team  :-[

Swallow, Simpson, Hanley, Suckling, Hibberd, Hurn  (Gardiner, Bews)

Pendlebury, JPK, J.Selwood, D.Beams, Fyfe, Rockliff, Murphy, K.Jack  (O'Brien, Acres)

Jacobs, Sandilands  (Brown, Nankervis)

Dangerfield, Gray, D.Martin, Franklin, Wingard, S.Martin  (Ambrose, C.Cameron)

$159,200

I guess the only guy that needs to be upgraded is probably Wingard, and I might need coverage in the mids, or I dunno this hurts my head and I can't wait for the end :P

reckon I'll just get McVeigh and figure the rest out later. only 3 trades left though (2 after Hibberd -> McV)

fuuuuuuuuckin havin another look, Jimmy might be a nice pick. save about 25k and has the Lions at Skilled in round 23...

Jimmy:
Freo @ SS
Carlton @ ES
Hawks @ MCG
Lions @ SS

McVeigh:
Port @ AO
Saints @ SCG
Dogs @ ES
Richmond @ ANZ

McVeigh probably has a little easier run, but Jimmy loves to destroy at SS... god dammit.

which one do you guys think is the safer option?

Wingard
Gray

a certainty, right? wrong.

half time, Wingard 42, Gray 19

yep, we're in the grand final mate. don't have any trades left as I had to burn my final 2 trades last week on injured midfielders, so just have to hope for a full team next week.

having a look at who I'm playing, he still has Fyfe, Beams, Stevie J, and Gary Rohan at F6, so my assumption is he has no trades left

not going to say it's over till it's over though

I will celebrate for the both of us if the team gets up. drinks in your honour.

can you spot me a few bucks though?

well turns out I'm gonna struggle to win. Pendles let me down (yes that's right, he doesn't have Pendles) and Roughy smashed it for him. Murphy is out so that's a donut for me.

ahwell bugger it
