| • Hm, just looking back on that lowly team comment. Looks a little off now, no offence. - thomas_m18 - 2 months ago |
| • A lowly team with one of the best taggers in the league in Brett Kirk running with Dal Santo. It's just one week, take it on the chin. He's worth what you paid. - thomas_m18 - 3 months ago |
| • had you 3-4 years ago, you let me down and powered me off, I pick this year after seeing your impressive averages, and what do you give me? A spudding 78 against a lowly team, st kilda will never have success with soft cocks like you in the team, ps if ross lyon moves dal santo forward again I am going to go really nuts - toodledock - 3 months ago |
| • NDS's averages over the past 5 years are amazing!! He's starting in my SC team - Jabbott - 6 months ago |
| • i'm with ant bauer on NDS. I traded him into my team for cross and expected a good score (i.e. not 54) to get me through to the grand final. Can't handle a tag and doesn't win his own ball. - magnets84 - 11 months ago |
| • i didnt see the game against the bulldogs this week but he cant have been giving his clean skills out. dropped 50 in sc if he loses me the game ill be very disapointed - hairydog84 - 12 months ago |
| • ant.bauer ant.bauer ant.bauer is all over these player threads and has not got a clue about football so I wouldnt take to heart any thing he has got to say, If you want proof just check any hawks player comments and you will understand what I am saying ,ant.bauer is a total dweeb - stman - 13 months ago |
| • Nick Dal Santo has the best disposal by foot in the AFL. Is a class midfielder how, this year, doesnt have to win every pos. from the bottom of the pack, mainly thanks to Lenny "Tackling God" Hayes. - T-Roy53 - 13 months ago |
| • Nick Dal Santo is simply a gun - Big V - 13 months ago |
| • everyones whos saying dal santo doesnt get the hardball are kidding themselfs and have clearly not watched many st.kilda games.his right up there in hardball gets and tackles - harvs35 - 13 months ago |
| • NDS is pure class by foot but will always cop flack with his inablity to win contested ball. yes his tackling may be up but we want to see contested possesions AS WELL AS his class in open space before his talked about in the same breath as the top 5 midfeilders in the game. Scott Pendlebury who is of similar ilk and build and who is much younger shows you can be both and his breakout season shows he is on the way to becoming one of the games elite! - FrankieL8 - 13 months ago |
| • Have either of your watched St Kilda much this season?
Ready to admit you're wrong yet?
Montagna leading tackles for St Kilda and Dal Santo has been diving head first into packs...
Dal Santo was never dropped for being soft, he was dropped for being lazy, he isn't a squib.
Just because a player goes missing when his team are losing doesn't make him soft, it's just not his position to go and get the hard ball, that's why he have guys like Hayes, Ball, McQualter, CJ etc.
The reason why he goes missing when we are losing is because Hayes and Ball aren't winning the ball so they can't dish it out to him. How often does Brendon Fevola go in and get the hard ball? rarely, if ever. I guess that makes him a down hill skier? a spud of the highest order? No! ofvourse it doesn't, because it is his job to recieve the ball, not win it, just like it is most outside midfielders, doesn't make them soft, they're just doing their job. - armoooo - 13 months ago |

| • I agree with antbauer. NDS is a classic outside player. When Lyons dropped him last year, it was for total lack of defensive pressure and a shortage of evidence that showed that he actually got in and under to get his own ball. I think since then, he's showed a few changes in his game. Now he does run and chase and he can put on a lot of defensive pressure when he's in the mood. I think that if you had a whole side of Lenny Hayes's - you would get a lot of injuries and not kick many goals. To me, St Kilda have the luckm position of having the hard nuts like Goddard and Hayes whilst the softer more skilled players like NDS and Montagna can do their stuff. But the comment about NDS being a true hard nut - that just doesn't stand up, though he's not the punce that montagna is but montagna's output lately has been awesome nonetheless. - chucknorris - 14 months ago |
| • Puts his head over the ball? You gotta be kidding. He's an absolute soft sheepdog and goes missing when his side is in trouble. Unlike blokes like Cooney for example who on the weekend single handedly ripped Adelaide apart in the 3rd quarter, this bloke will dissappear when the game is in the balance and someone is needed to step up. All the silky skills in the world are worth nothing when your side is in trouble and you're being a lazy, useless piece of shit. With Milne he is one of the AFL's great downhill skiers. Lenny Hayes is one of the only players at that failure of a club worthy of any respect. - ant.bauer - 14 months ago |
| • Wait to show your ignorance ant.bauer.
I will start off by admitting I am a St Kilda supporter so I'm sure you'll accuse me of bias but your opinion is obviously of little worth anyway.
Dal Santo has never dogged the contest, he has always been one of the first players willing to put their head over the ball, he is a genuine hard nut however he cops a lot of flack for being soft because he plays as an outside midfielder, like it matters, he goes when it's his turn.
Dal Santo has had some shocking form at times especially in mid 2008, however this wasn't because of his percieved softness, it was due to his laziness, inability to gut run and his lack of defensive pressure which is a key component to Ross Lyon's game plan.
He has rectified these issues and is now one of the in form players in the competition. - armoooo - 14 months ago |
| • Never won his own ball once in his career. Dogs it when the pressure is on. - ant.bauer - 14 months ago |
