Riewoldt told the Herald Sun "I tried to run, tried to do everything, but functionally once the tendon stops working there's nothing you can do and there's no anaesthetic in the world which can get you up. I tried my best, but I wasn't even close." | ||||

| NEWS: Riewoldt will not play in Round 21 against Geelong on Friday night in a do or die match for St Kilda. It is unknown at this stage if Riewoldt will be shutdown if the Saints were to lose this weekend. | ||||

| NEWS: Riewoldt has suffered a knee in jury in Round 20, but St Kilda seem optimistic he could play again this season. It seems unlikely you will see Riewoldt this Friday night against Geelong. If St Kilda lose this match finals are starting to get difficult and Riewoldt may be shutdown. St Kilda coach Scott Watters said "He's got a small split in the tendon behind his knee, which in the scheme of things is pretty minor compared to what it could have been. We'll assess him throughout the week and see where he sits on the back of that. I think [that he'll play again this season]. At this stage, that's the early diagnosis, but with these things you get a scan, you let things settle. What I say to you now might change in 24 hours so initial reports are very optimistic he'll be able to play again this year." | ||||
