NEWS: Matthew Kreuzer says he has overcome the injury issues that severely reduced his impact last season and is ready to figure strongly in the Blues' NAB Cup campaign. Kreuzer underwent post-season surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus in his left knee and was on restricted duties before Christmas. Now, a noticeably bigger and stronger Kreuzer is excited to be finally injury-free and training fully again, without any strapping or discomfort.

NEWS: It is still an unknown if Kreuzer will return in Round 18. Carlton coach Brett Ratten said before today's session at Visy Park "Matthew will be an assess-after-training (case). Some of these niggles and things are pretty much a session-by-session assessment, not game-by-game, to see how they've gone, how they've pulled up and can we push on?" Ratten said Kreuzer (hip) was more "likely than unlikely" but added "when I say that it usually goes the other way"

NEWS: 29 hit outs and 6 disposals... that is not enough around the grounds work

NEWS: Kreuzer was absolutely dominant on Friday night without Warnock in the team and Shaun Hampson leaving the ground with a season ending injury. The question remains, does Kreuzer need the sole Ruck responsibility to impact the game? We suggest they will be giving Kreuzer 80% of the Ruck load in the coming few weeks, but can his body take it as well, is another question.

NEWS: AFL.com.au's Luke Darcy said on Access All Areas on Monday "He's just out of touch ... and Carlton fans had turned on him by the end of the game [against Hawthorn]. I've got a theory that he was the No. 1 draft pick Matthew Kreuzer and he was drafted as the best ruckman in the country. He hasn't really been allowed to play there for an extended period of time. They're trying to turn him into a gun key forward, which I don't think he's ever, ever going to be. He's got to play his natural role - just play in the ruck." In response to the is Injury expert Dr Peter Larkins "I'm sure he's playing very sore. I'd just like to remind people that he had surgery on his left hip and his right hip when he was recruited ... which I thought was always going to limit how much he'd get out of a big body over the course of a 10-year career. Then he had a reconstruction of his left knee with some tendon out of his right knee. He had troubles in the reconstructed knee again last year and had surgery again on that to deal with some scar tissue. I've been watching him play and there's no doubt he's playing sore."
