| NEWS: Geelong stars Jimmy Bartel and James Kelly are on course to play in the NAB Cup. Bartel (foot) and Kelly (hips) were sidelined earlier in the pre-season, but they have been impressive contributors during the recent competitive training sessions against North Melbourne. "They're full-on training now and right into the match-play stuff," teammate Andrew Mackie told AFL.com.au. "They've pretty much done everything during the last two to three weeks. Naturally, both are pretty fit anyway, so they kept their fitness up on the cross-trainers until they were right to get out on the ground." | ||||

| NEWS: Bartel suffered a foot problem in the second half of the 2012 season which slowed him. He has been wearing a moon boot for most of the pre-season but has just had it removed. Cats skipper Joel Selwood said "Jimmy had a small fracture in his foot. He hasn't done a lot over the break; he was in a boot for a number of weeks. Before Christmas I'm sure you'll see him out there." | ||||
