NEWS: Morton, Pick #4 in the 2007 National Draft, has amazingly been traded for next to little as he has fallen from grace with a run of bad form, injuries and issues with concentration and effort. The West Coast Eagles could be just what he needed to reach his potential. The Eagles take zero tolerance when it comes to being a part of the side. You either shape up or ship out. Josh Hill was an excellent example of this in the 2012 season. Expect Morton to turn some heads in 2013.

Cale will have surgery this week to repair his shoulder and the expectation will be that he is available for the start of pre-season."

NEWS: In the past 3 matches Morton has averaged 20 possessions a game and starting to show signs of playing good football again after a horrible run of form and injuries over the past few years. Morton recently told melbournefc.com.au that "It's good to be back. I felt as though I had a good pre-season. Unfortunately, I injured myself on the verge of the season, so it was a little bit disappointing to miss the first couple of games. I haven't played round one in a couple of years now, and that's disappointing for me. I've learned a lot along the way about myself through the rehab processes, so I'm a better player for that."

NEWS: The week in review after Round 3 had Melbourne again in the papers for this time lack of effort. Morton was highlighted especially with a lackluster effort across half forward. There was one in particular effort which was discussed on "On The Couch" on Monday night which was heavily criticized. Morton has not delivered so far on his high Draft pick potential.
