(Q1 0:28) Betts is first back to a high Garlett ball to the pocket, he marks and runs into the open goal. (Q1 1:21) Tuohy sprints down the outer wing well in front of Selwood, reaches 50m on the flank and sails through a long bomb for a goal! (Q1 3:28) Betts is in the square to goal off the ground from an errant Taylor spoil at the top of the square. (Q1 6:59) Robinson gives to Simpson at the centre bounce, the torpedo wobbles past Garlett and Enright but Jeffie is first to the fall... but he misses from 10m. (Q1 8:21) McLean snaps wide from a stoppage in one pocket, it drifts into the other pocket where Taylor holds Henderson to concede a free. Henderson hits the post. (Q1 10:23) Judd gets a free for a hold by Duncan at a stoppage at 30m on the flank. He misses. (Q1 13:58) Motlop catches Joseph HTB 15m out on the boundary but misses. (Q1 17:29) Gibbs gets caught HTB by Johnson at 40m on the flank, but Stevie J also misses. (Q1 18:28) Corey catches Tuohy HTB 60m out, the ump waves play on despite Stokes wanting to stop, but eventually Mackie gives to Chapman to goal from the square. (Q1 25:58) Collins marks a long, swerving centre clearance kick by Judd to 35m on a slight angle, and misses. (Q1 27:06) Corey is set up with a terrible kick-in, Betts gets involved and eventually spins out of an Enright tackle to goal from 25m with a bit of Eddie skill! (Q1 28:29) Motlop roves a Bootsma fumble at CHB, scoots to 35m but misses with traffic in front of him. (Q2 6:31) Stokes is front and centre for a Hawkins contest at 35m on the flank and pokes a pass to Motlop at 20m. Motlop goals. (Q2 7:31) Judd wins the centre bounce clearance, Kreuzer leaps and marks over Taylor at the hotspot. Krooze shanks it left for a miss. (Q2 8:23) Kreuzer catches Stokes high at 45m in front, Stokes gives to Motlop who sails through another one from CHF! (Q2 11:01) Motlop encroaches on the mark to take Collins from the centre to the hotspot. Collins goals. (Q2 13:01) Armfield gets a 50m penalty for Taylor Hunt running through the mark to put him at the top of the square for a gimme goal. (Q2 18:23) Hawkins marks a long Kelly ball next to the square and gets put on a big angle for a miss. (Q2 19:23) Ellard roves a Bootsma contest at the hotspot and bounces a snap that clearly hits the goalpost, but the goal ump didn't see it! The umps confer and eventually review it. Point. (Q2 21:55) Joseph is first back to the Cats hotspot to mop up but under Wocjinski's tackle he coughs it up to Bartel who pokes a pass to Motlop at 25m. Motlop goals again, three for Q2! (Q2 22:53) Stokes gives to Motlop near the boundary 40m, he tries a long ball to the line that is not a pass or a shot really, it misses. (Q2 29:02) Walker streams down the wing to 60m on the flank with four Blues waving their arms at the hotspot, but Walker sprays a shot out on the full. Oh dear. (Q3 1:23) Walker misses again, this time in space at 25m on the flank. (Q3 3:19) Lonergan catches Betts high at 35m on the flank. Eddie gets up and makes Tom pay with a nice set shot for a goal. (Q3 5:50) Bartel runs from the centre to 60m and kicks long to the square... Chapman shepherds it through with Duigan powerless to stop it! (Q3 6:46) Taylor Hunt goals from 50m on the flank after the ball squirts out to him from a Stokes contest. (Q3 9:54) Stokes gives to Taylor Hunt in the centre who runs to 50m on a slight angle but this time misses. (Q3 10:48) Hampson's kick from a stoppage 25m out wobbles towards the behind line, Betts tries a ridiculous kick out of mid air that doesn't succeed. (Q3 15:23) Gibbs marks the kick in at CHF and goals! (Q3 15:23) Selwood dodges into space at 40m in front and sails through a big goal, a rare bit of quality in a poor standard game, to be honest. (Q3 19:51) Bartel wins a hard ball under a four-man pack 40m out and gives to Duncan who sets up Motlop to run into the open goal. The replay shows it was probably a throw. (Q3 22:23) Chapman kicks long to the hotspot, Jamison spoils from behind but the ump pings him for hands in the back on Hawkins. The Tomahawk misses. (Q3 24:51) Lonergan sits under a long ball to the square but drops it cold, Kreuzer roves and goals! (Q3 25:53) Hawkins is in front to mark a high Bartel ball from a stoppage to 25m on a slight angle. This time Tommy makes no mistake. (Q3 26:46) Scarlett gets pinged for deliberate out of bounds 30m out. Kreuzer has the shot but kicks it into Scarlett, no score. (Q3 29:16) Betts gives over the top of traffic to Garlett at 40m in front, who hits the post on the right boot snapping across his body. (Q3 30:23) Yarran and Mackie go for a ground ball on the HBF, Yarran wins and rounds on his right boot from 50m... and hits the post. (Q4 0:26) Selwood falls on the ball at 30m on the flank but Joseph drops the knee into him to concede the free. Jelwood goals. (Q4 0:26) Yarran passes to Betts a step in front of Josh Hunt on the lead at 25m deep in the pocket. Eddie misses, just. (Q4 2:18) Taylor marks an Enright pass to CHF, wheels and kicks long to the square where Hampson is out of position allowing West to mark next to the goalpost. West goals. (Q4 3:18) Duncan misses on the run from 45m on a slight angle under no pressure. (Q4 5:55) Simpson marks at 55m on a slight angle in plenty of space on the fat side, jogs to 45m and slots the goal to keep Carlton in it. (Q4 7:56) Ellard roves a West ruck tap at 40m on the flank but misses. (Q4 12:27) Geelong gets a fast break on after a long period of Blue frontal pressure, Stokes give to Duncan who runs to the same spot as his last shot and doesn't miss this time. (Q4 13:24) Garlett passes to Simpson on the lead in front of Mackie at 35m on the flank. Simpson hits the post. (Q4 14:48) Yarran marks uncontested 40m out in the corridor from an intelligent centring ball by Henderson, and misses badly. (Q4 18:22) Selwood misses from a stoppage at the top of the square but the ump had picked out a free against Hampson to Stokes for the sealing goal. (Q4 20:53) A Blue rebound breaks down on the HBF, eventually Selwood gives to Stringer who misses from 35m on the flank. (Q4 22:56) Collins gives to Bootsma who misses from 40m on a slight angle. (Q4 23:56) Judd snaps from the hotspot over the pack in the square for a goal, 1:38 left so there's barely time left. (Q4 25:56) West sets up a centre clearance by Geelong, Johnson marks at 30m near the boundary and ices the game by running down the clock. He bananas a point. (Q4 27:26) |
