Who do you think will get it this year and will they be in your team?

Going on past winners, Joel Selwood, Daniel Rich & Rhys Palmer all taken at pick 7, Brad Sheppard has a lot to live up too! And he will be sitting on my bench in the backline. I have a feeling he will find it hard to win a rising star award from the backline however.

since when cant you get nominated twice?

Dual nominees

It is possible for a player to be nominated in multiple years, as long as they still satisfy the age and games played qualification rules in each year. So far six players have been nominated twice.[1]

    * Duncan Kellaway (Richmond) – 1993 / 1994
    * Craig Callaghan (Fremantle) – 1995 / 1996
    * Michael Braun (West Coast Eagles) – 1997 / 1998
    * Luke Power (Brisbane Lions) – 1998 / 1999
    * Nathan Jones (Melbourne) – 2006 / 2007
    * Mark LeCras (West Coast Eagles) – 2006 / 2007

Age: 20 or under on January 1 that year
Games: less than 10
those are the only rules

i still think it will be tough for him to beat one of those top 4 draft picks, but hes worth a few dollars if he doesnt miss any H&A games through suspension!

hurley can win it has changed to the amount of games you play not if you got nominated last year so if hurley won't and bastinac gets nominated bastinac will win..

Yeah don't you need to of played less than 10 games in your career? Hurley ha played just nine so I think he is still eligible but I don't think he'll win it, I'm all over Martin

dustin martin is a certainty to win it because he will play nearly every game thanks to a horrible richmond team that still features many players that are hopeless

martin, morabito and bastinac all will be nominated inside first 5 rounds, who will win?
realistically i think bastinac will win but im a freo supporter so i have to say morabito, provided we win 13+ games this year.

Wouldn't it be easier just to say you think Bastinac will in it?? I don't think he will, he is a long way from being a ready made AFl player, he is quite wiry. I think he will be good but not this year.

Martin looks the goods allthough Jetta played a good game also. Still it's only the first round. IMHO

Jetta does look good, not sure if he'll get through more than 15 games with that body though. If he can get through the season without a problem he will come very close though.

Dustin Martin. Scully and Trengrove wil be chasing his tail. History suggests that the kids who play the bulk of the games that season (ie Round 1 or 2 starters) have a far stronger chance.

Hurley has played 9 games, does this mean he is ineligible to be nominated after his 10th game?

Also, the rules - is it under 10 games AND under 20 years old? Or under 10 games AND/OR under 20 years old?
