Nathan G Brown, ffs!

and as if Hogan didn’t come in!

Painful week ahead; also, hartlett or Barham? If down grade Robinson to Hartlett makes very little cash…

Doug C Says: 7:21 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Actually thought Cousins and/or Raines would have been pushed through in the hope of getting on the board. Hard to see where their first win will come from really.

TRS Says: 7:24 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Robinson out compounds the Skipworth injury for me… I’ll have to make an early call on Barham/Coughlan/Hartlett which isn’t nice.

pascoe Says: 7:26 pm, April 23rd, 2009

robinson out. tuck better not late withdrawal again. skippy for walker and morton for bartel

love4thegame Says: 7:28 pm, April 23rd, 2009

n g brown you dog.
good to see coughlan back in

Peanut Says: 7:28 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Just happy to see Chad Fletcher not in the 22, without his token clangers the Eagles are a chance!
Seriously though, nice to see Cheney still getting a gig on the extended bench, ven though he probably won’t play this week.
Shame about Mitch Robinson, but the writing was on the wall.
Jarrad Grant could be the answer that iron ore frontbum was supposed to be, not that I’m holding my breath!

Dave Says: 7:32 pm, April 23rd, 2009

what’s with nathan g brown???

robinson for ablett
skipworth for M Clark

With Clark taking on #1 Ruck pos for brissy for the next 4-5 weeks I expect he’ll get some good numbers and make a bit of cash then I’ll trade him

N Brown benched replaced by M Brown

juddanaught Says: 7:34 pm, April 23rd, 2009

gee bloody wizz !!

forward line copped a hammering, daniher out brown out, skippy out, shopenmakers emergency, sidefreckle not named !!

had a look at the two trades in

daniher and skippy out
for
krakour and harvey - fell agonisingly short by 100 dollars !! cant cop life hahah

had to settle for krakour and medhurst. cant afford to wait a week for buddy.

PAIN

subilax Says: 7:35 pm, April 23rd, 2009

anyone care to help me out… my team has been destroyed by injuries and suspension.
BACKS:
peter bourgoune is out, raines out, broughton out, cheney?
1 possibly 2 short!
nathan brown out
skipworth out
hentshel out
rookie not playing.
what would you trade? im thinking skipworth for higgins as one trade?

mcwarne Says: 7:51 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Not alot of comments from our intrepid reporter here I notice. Maybe thats because all of Montgomerys predictions and advice have gone pear shaped. Didnt notice Broughton, Suckling, SBottom, Hogan or Yarran make it in this week. Here my advice.
Stop trading as we are all in the same boat. I have done one trade for the season so far and thats to get Rance for Broughton. You must be there when the whips are cracking and from what I have seen on this site, it aint gonna be any of you lot.

dylan Says: 7:59 pm, April 23rd, 2009

who would u guys pick up for skipworth out of buddy, harvey or riewoldt? i think they are the best 3 options to chose from but i dont no which 1 i should go for

Hibbo Says: 8:03 pm, April 23rd, 2009

hmmm

Will cop a zero if I don’t trade out either Skipworth or NG Brown…Hopefully the footy show will shed some light on Browns injury, see how long he’s out for. Possible trade- Brown out: Rooy/SJ in…

Or Skippy out for someone…

Or Downgrade Robinson and then upgrade Skippy…

Hmmm, decisions decisions!

Matt Says: 8:06 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Extended bench for the Petrenk. You blokes reckon he’s set for the magoos this w/e. surely not, he’s been pretty servicable i would of thought

hakuna Says: 8:07 pm, April 23rd, 2009

did nathan g brown get dropped? big lol

Ev Says: 8:10 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Where is Broughton?? Injured still or cut?

Evan Says: 8:20 pm, April 23rd, 2009

made my trades. only 1 this week :) skippy straght swap for S mcmahon

The3rd Says: 8:23 pm, April 23rd, 2009

AFL website says -

‘TIGER Mark Coughlan and Bulldog Robert Murphy make highly-anticipated returns from injury, Nathan Brown is ruled out with a groin complaint and Troy Simmonds has been dropped from the round five teams announced on Thursday night’

Terry Wallace is complaining about N.Browns groin

Ev Says: 8:23 pm, April 23rd, 2009

dylan: I already have buddy, and so I’m going riewoldt. just not sure about harvey - but im no expert. buddy looks good too, and a lot cheaper atm - he wont drop any lower.

j drummo Says: 8:30 pm, April 23rd, 2009

i have no real concern is skippy. i think my only options are:

trade skip for ziebell

or put skip on bench for walker.

ziebell’s price will rise considerabley again after this week, so it is now or never. So am i at a disadvantage if i leave skippy? are there any advantages for not trdaing him now? he will be out for a month, and his price wont rise much higher, so i think it is best to trade him soon.

Also, is ziebell the best option under 400k (preferable lower than 300k)?

Macca Says: 8:30 pm, April 23rd, 2009

so far so good…my 22 are all playing and at least one of my bench players

Disco (UK) Says: 8:34 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Hi m0nty, is it possible to provide the SC BE’s on the BE page also?

Ryan Says: 8:36 pm, April 23rd, 2009

is Houlihan safe on extended bench??

the dud Says: 8:38 pm, April 23rd, 2009

those pink donuts with sprinkles on the front page sure look tasty

Macca Says: 8:40 pm, April 23rd, 2009

bugger the teams….where did you get those donuts m0nty???

u mad? Says: 8:47 pm, April 23rd, 2009

damnit hate those extended benches. with a back bench of cheney and broughton, petrenko and houlihan better drag their a$$es onto that ground.

Keza41 Says: 8:48 pm, April 23rd, 2009

hmmm… was hoping that raines would be back this week. now i have to put up with another week of stephen hill being in the side.

Apart from that and petrenko maybe not playing i’m all good.

Heater Says: 8:52 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Houlihan will play. He has not done much wrong this year so I’d be very surprised to see him out.

Seems like we are all in the same boat so there will be no panic trades from this little black duck.

Having said that I can only wait for Broughton to play for so long so perhaps next week….

Pendles Says: 8:55 pm, April 23rd, 2009

maric, no good.

Gary Says: 8:55 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Whats with Simmomnds?

denis Says: 8:56 pm, April 23rd, 2009

how lucky am i, kosi as my ruck is injured so i was going to have to put Angus Graham as starting Ruck….lol simmonds is dropped… the gods are watching over me!!!!

George Says: 8:59 pm, April 23rd, 2009

should i trade out travis cloke?

dylan Says: 9:02 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Petrenko will be playing unless there is a injury no1 knows about. Griff will be in for Maric and Stevens for Symes then there is also a chance of Cook or Jacky for Shirley

oddsok Says: 9:06 pm, April 23rd, 2009

@m0nty: FYI Dons Pies Anzac day clash starts at 2.20pm not 2.10

Disco (UK) Says: 9:17 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Skipworth is priced $ 250800(DT)/306300(SC) averaging 81.8/85.5.

Roughly, upon his return if he averages:
81.8/85.5 he will get to ~$ 363k/459k profit ~$ 113k/153k
75 he will get to ~$ 333k/406k profit ~$ 83k/100k
70 he will get to ~$ 312k/363k profit ~$ 62k/57k
65 he will get to ~$ 285k/348k profit ~$ 35k/42k

He will make you some more money. However, looking at the fixture it looks bleak upon his 3 to 4 week return or after 1/2 VFL games (bar RT/MD):
3 wks - R8 @ St Kilda
4 wks - R9 @ Richmond
5 wks - R10 Geelong
6 wks - R11 Adelaide
7 wks - R12 Melbourne
8 wks - R13 Carlton

dontdropurdidaks Says: 9:24 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Wouldnt normally complain about Double D’s.
Except for the Dounle Donut that im facing.
I have P Burgs and Rainsey sitting on the bench and its not worth the trades to get rid of them. just going to have to bite the bullet. hope to stay in the top 2500 or so and come hope with a charge and plenty of trades remaining.

mcwarne Says: 9:34 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Thats good advice “dontdropyadidaks”. But its going to go unheeded. I some some people who have done 2 trades every week so far. They are loonies. I am currently sitting 350 something with PBurgoyne, Raines, LAnthony, Hentschel, now Wade T (and probably Petrenko) all out. You just gotta hang tough and not trade.

Hank jnr Says: 9:36 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Mmmmmmmmm donuts

mcwarne Says: 9:37 pm, April 23rd, 2009

and Skippy and Spencer out too. Forgot about them!

Croquet Kings Says: 9:40 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Lots of people have been hit by injuries this week.

I’ve been looking at the fwd trade for Skippy a lot this week.

For some unknown reason I had Osborne in my team and he has been on the bench since Rd 1.
Hentchel is also on my bench, while M Brown and Ziebell are playing.

As I’ve got $280k in the bank I could do most trades.

My reasoning was:
Franklin - BE of 119 so even if he scores well won’t go up that much. He has a good run over the next 5 weeks against weaker sides. Pick up next week.
Harvey - Low BE of 77. Don’t think he’ll drop much more and should ave about 95 for you this year. Buy this week.
Riewoldt - BE of 90 so shouldn’t move too much. Has a hard run of games and his knee worries me. Without Kosi will be easier to mark. Wait 4 weeks and see.

Anyway I traded Osborne for Harvey and will start M Brown and Zeibell this week.

Also traded Jolly up to Cox for an extra $70k

Currently ranked 1880 averaging 2018

adam Says: 9:58 pm, April 23rd, 2009

all these people keeping skipworth i dont understand. my feeling, he was on the brink of selection before he did his hammy anyway. and when he is finally fit, theres prismal and welsh getting close to fit mid year. is it worth sitting on a player with a bit of cash behind him if that when he’s fit he might be in and out of the team anyway. all these people who are thinking of getting donuts just to hold onto him. i dont get it

Athomas Says: 10:02 pm, April 23rd, 2009

No donuts for me. Got Robinson, Purgoyne, Skipworth, Anthony, Hentschel. Depth is nice :)
Trading skippy but.

Can’t wait for Purgoyne back next week! :D

mcwarne Says: 10:10 pm, April 23rd, 2009

All these people Adam, would rather have 1 or 2 donuts now than 5 or 6 during the finals series because they blew their trades like a virgin in a knock shop in the first half of the season.

Mangers Says: 10:22 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Second trade for the season….a sideways punt of Skippy for Lucas. I’m suprised that Lucas hasn’t been mentioned too much as a trade option for Skippy. He’s still averaging 70 and is likely to continue gaining in value.

Steven Says: 11:10 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Need advice…..

Got caught out last week by not trading Leuenberger and now some of possible trades have gone up in value… :-( So this week do I trade Leuenberger for consistant points and a steady rise in $$ value in Kurt Tippett from Adelaide or do i go rookie and buy John meeson from Melbourne and hope to get another cash cow…???
have already blown 4 trades this season. FYI Ruck stocks are Kruezer, J. pencer and S.Jacobs

Constructive Advice please !!!!!

PIESBOY Says: 11:13 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Im really thinking this week could break a lot of dream teamers (Monty if you think there has been agro this week - wait till next). I can see a huge swing in rankings for a lot of people this week.

Rookie backs falling down, what to do with Skipworth, NG not playing, Simmonds ommitted. Imagine if Cheney/Houlihan dont get a game from the extended bench - Didak may not play, Adcock could yet miss.

Huge week!

mcwarne Says: 11:27 pm, April 23rd, 2009

John Meesen eh, Steven? I’ll stand by the toilet with my finger on the flusher and you tell me you are about to throw 2 more trades in!

craig Says: 11:37 pm, April 23rd, 2009

Well i’m pretty sure i’ve got 22 fit, and 3 on the bench that won’t play. So…. should be OK for now. Might think about trading Skippy next week…. hm… a few potential new rookies to watch out for.

Croquet Kings Says: 11:51 pm, April 23rd, 2009

How many $ can you afford Steven?

steven Says: 11:57 pm, April 23rd, 2009

McWarne - Dont wanna waste trades but ruck stock is only area letting me down -

Croquet King - If i sell Leuenberger only have $226,500 to play with - hence Tippett as likely option. Also considering getting ride of Skipworth… If so i would buy Brisbanes Clarke as a ruck and maybe buy Nahas ( $hit i know ) but cash cow option as break even score is -62…..

Croquet Kings Says: 12:27 am, April 24th, 2009

Steven - Tippett does look like your best trade option.
But given that you can’t get anyone with a decent average I can’t see any other obvious trades with the $ you have.
Some options maybe later down the track when you have a little for $ are Gardiner and Simmonds. Although Simmonds is out this week his price will continue to drop like a stone and in 2 weeks of playing you will pick him up for $250k.

My theory is it if isn’t a definite trade up and if you have any cover, just wait and see.

AdamG03 Says: 12:30 am, April 24th, 2009

I have 380k in the bank and made 2 trades so far.

Ctr Bench: Robinson/Anthony
Fwd Bench: Walker/Brown

Problems this week = skipworth and ng brown (who can be covered by walker/brown) but then no ctr emgs and starting beams as the 6th mid.

Im wondering whats better:

1) Robinson to Gablett = Leaves me with 44k in the bank
2) Skipworth to Riewoldt or Harvey and sit on the ctr situation for now

Help?

Sam Says: 12:41 am, April 24th, 2009

I really really really hope Adcock pulls through! I’m playing my mate (who doesn’t have him) and it’s gonna be very tight. Last thing i need is a donut!

same as last week Says: 12:41 am, April 24th, 2009

Apart from the outs, I have noticed two major things that may have been overlooked.

Malthouse has been decidedly boring this Anzac Day with no changes. Could have at least put a left field rookie as an emergency to keep face.

The other is Lachie Henderson making his first appearance this year, his price is rather low if he can stay in the team.

AdamG03 Says: 12:42 am, April 24th, 2009

Btw to go with my above post, the way im thinking is that getting Gablett for Robinson will make my midfield more solid and move beams to the EMG spot until Anthony returns (which i don’t mind waiting on)

Robinson to Gablett
Mid = Gablett, Gibbs, Boyd, Dalziell, Selwood, Rich (Beams/Anthony)

Then if NG Brown returns within a week or so, it means i only have Skippy sittin on the pine with 1 of Walker or Brown subbing in for him and the other being an EMG.

Of course unless Pav or Gian drop in price dramatically before Skippy returns, this may change the setup.

But im leaning towards getting Gablett. Another captain option and makes my mids a bit more solid.

Thoughts?

Thanks
AdamG03

Sam Says: 12:44 am, April 24th, 2009

I think Petrenko is safe for the time being.

The crows bench should look like:

Moran (or Stevens if he pulls through)
Reilly
Shirley
Petrenko

I hope anyway!

AdamG03 Says: 1:01 am, April 24th, 2009

Surely Shirleys spot is the most in danger compared to Petrenko and the others on the bench. Is Craig expecting him to hold his opponent to only 40 possies this week? :P

Chuck Norris Says: 6:35 am, April 24th, 2009

SC Currently ranked 989 overall - weekly ranking third out of 309,000. I reckon that trading out Skippy is a waste of a trade.

The only guy who’ll make you real money up forward will be Ben Warren from North. The obvious trade right now is young Mitch Robbo for Hartlett from Port.

To me the Port kid has all the hallmarks of a 15 game first year player. He got a beautiful set of hands, is a good size and can kick better than most kids. He’s good good match awareness too, so he knows where to be to get it. And he’s quick. Better get Robbo out of there in 2 or 3 weeks to see of Carrazzo doesn’t get re-injured as he has done twice before.

I’m concerned about rumours about GAJ carrying a groin from the Adelaide game. I did a lot of work in Geelong this week and it was persistent and multi-sourced. But it is just hearsay, not fact.

I reckon young Ben Warren from North bears serious looking at. If any of guys need a $94K Skippy solution, you could do worse. Skippy will be back before June.

Expect my North to struggle against Richmond tomorrow night. Not a bad night night to do a smokey quarter quad. Richmond could easily win.

Dave Says: 8:14 am, April 24th, 2009

No one has mentioned the SKippy to Hale sideways trade or even Campbell Brown for a little bit more. Whats ur thoughts???

steven Says: 8:28 am, April 24th, 2009

Thanks Croquet King for the advice - ill have a look at Symonds and see.

steven Says: 8:30 am, April 24th, 2009

What does everyone think as Nahas as a quick cash cow swap for injured skipworth ??? i know he isnt the best by breakeven is -62 this week !!!!

chris Says: 8:52 am, April 24th, 2009

Still got 18 trades with only injuries being Skippy and Raines, benched Raines for his 4 weeks off. Thinking gonna trade Skippy for a forward rookie next week, then Gibbs for Ablett as Ablett killed me last week. Which means bit vunerable in forward line with 2 of Ziebell, M.Brown or Walker starting. Ziebell will be my next upgrade target in probably 3 or 4 weeks

Chad Says: 9:10 am, April 24th, 2009

Very nice to see greenwood get a game. Local Port Adelaide Magpie boy (moulds of Michael Wilson) and if he plays well could downgrade petrenko to greenwood in a couple of weeks.

pete Says: 10:17 am, April 24th, 2009

Chad i just did exactly what u sed to get gablett this weeek. not cause u sed it, just coincidental :)

Greg Says: 10:57 am, April 24th, 2009

Is anyone worried about Harvey getting such heavy tags lately? With wells getting injured he might cop it even more. I’m probably going to trade him in for Skippy, but its not a comfortable trade…

pete stop copying chad.

Rourke Says: 11:42 am, April 24th, 2009

@Dave Hale is a superb idea, already dropped nearly $100k because of illness but 120 in Round 4 he’s way underpriced, breakeven about 75 despite the awful start!

zenmaster Says: 12:03 pm, April 24th, 2009

Stay calm men … remember your deep strategy and do not cast yourselves to the mercy of the first chill winds … we are all of One ocean and in the same fantasy boat … heed the words of mcwarne and trust ,,,

My team will carry a donut this week, but you should see the opposition … NGB scored only 64 points last week … we’ll hardly miss him - better he should rest that groin

zenmaster Says: 12:11 pm, April 24th, 2009

But for those of you addicted to panic … Mitch robinson and Ryan houlihan have both been named on the wings for the Northern Bullants

hairy Says: 12:12 pm, April 24th, 2009

greg not to skippy injury prone

benno Says: 12:20 pm, April 24th, 2009

oi m0nty what’s the go with Jack Grimes? he’s not appearing on any of the regular injury lists … is he fit? changed his name perhaps to addam with two Ds?
as for hawthorn and their ‘indefinite’ listings … grrrrr

steven Says: 12:29 pm, April 24th, 2009

With Houlihan in the 2nd’s and Petrenko also on extended bench - Steve says Its Donut Time !!!

torress Says: 12:39 pm, April 24th, 2009

arhh the only donut im receiving this week (hopefully) is due to Koschitzke as i picked spencer and andrew browne as my back up rucks.
sorta tinkered with the idea of swapping one for meeson but wat a waste that wud be.
yea im currently 5200 in SC so i hoping ppl infront of me have MANY donuts and use LOTS of trades lol

Superfist Says: 12:44 pm, April 24th, 2009

Thanks for wasting 7 minutes of my life Steven & zenmaster, I want them back.
Everyone named on Carlton’s extended bench is named for the Bullants so working on this theory Carlton is going with a 0-man interchange. Innovative.

benno Says: 12:49 pm, April 24th, 2009

what’s the go with xavier ellis, hawkies, how long do you reckon he’s out for?

Korza Says: 12:52 pm, April 24th, 2009

Maric,Simmonds,Charman,Kosi,Bradley,

Monty are those doughnuts from Krispy Kremes,if so, why not hit them for some advertising costs.

steven Says: 12:55 pm, April 24th, 2009

Superfist - was was merely commenting on zenmasters point !

Just one more thing - If it took you 7 minutes to read those 2 comments, you have a lot more to worry about in life than your dream team results. Good luck with it all !!! :-)

torress Says: 1:02 pm, April 24th, 2009

how do u kno that houlihan is in the 2s?? i thought teams were not named til 5pm mate??
or r u just trying to stir the pot more??
that joseph bloke is apparently sore and they won’t play setana. it wud be that browne fellas 1st game and considering they really need to win i doubt that they wud play him against the dogs - thats a load of bollocks isn’t it??

steven Says: 1:05 pm, April 24th, 2009

I have not suggested i know anything about the final team list! i was just commenting that if he is in the 2nds as zenmaster suggested i will be getting a big fat donut for him this week !!!!

azzacooney Says: 1:08 pm, April 24th, 2009

subilax bro if u havent already got higgins then your a bad coach.

i got rid of skippy for barhan
and upgraded hasleby for bartel
still got 150 000 in bank. carlton dogs should be a high point game for dt cmon gibbs!

m0nty Says: 1:10 pm, April 24th, 2009

Grimes is playing for Casey Scorpions at the moment, building match fitness. He played his first game last week in a back pocket, starting on the bench and managing a goal, and has been named this week on a wing.

azzacooney Says: 1:12 pm, April 24th, 2009

nice behind closed doors info there monty keep it up

Ben Says: 1:44 pm, April 24th, 2009

That’s not closed door info, that’s a little bit of research in VFL results!

Houlihan won’t play 2’s.

I have no donuts in my line-up. Perhaps the rumours about Monty preventing the EliteDreamTeamers from claiming #1 spot are true? j/k

steven Says: 1:48 pm, April 24th, 2009

i have a problem i have skippy but dont have enough to get a gun i av 82k in bank so 330k to get a forward i have walker to fill in but am i wasting points starting walker?
1)should i hold onto skippy for some1 to go down eg gian but this might take 2 wks and a possibility he wont drop enough
2)downgrade skippy to a rookie
3)do 2 trades to get a good forward but all my players are still rising and wont make max profit from them?

sean Says: 1:53 pm, April 24th, 2009

Now, i’m not going to claim to be an expert. I’ve been following fanfooty since DT opened this year and across rounds 1-3 there was all this talk about no sideways trades.
Isn’t trading out Skippy for someone of equal or lesser value just that? Why not wait a week, and do a double trade? Trade out (for example) Beams/Robinson for Barham and use the extra $100k to get a $400k keeper for Skippy rather than a $290k player who you’ll want to trade out later in the season.

Just my 2 bob.

benno Says: 3:21 pm, April 24th, 2009

@m0nty - thanks. well dean bailey, bring the grimenator back!
@Ben, no-one would recommend taking as gospel everything an opponent of yours says.
with trades, i figure the key is who yr playing in yr league. if yr opponent is a tough one and you’ll need every win to make the finals, then strengthen yr team. if you don’t need every point, hang on to skipworth, play a rookie and hope franklin or someone has a shocker this week to bring down his $

taz Says: 3:33 pm, April 24th, 2009

am getting rid of skippy, thinking of getting someone cheap like nahas or ben warren, not sure who tho. Warren only played his first game last week and it named in the hf line, nahas plays his 3rd but named 3rd on bench. who do i get??

Jake Says: 3:50 pm, April 24th, 2009

Hi guys I have knights, anthony, and robinson, therefore will have a donut this week if i do not trade.I have only used 1 trade so far so i can afford to trade this week. Im leaning towards a knights- ablett trade, however I have kept knights this long it seems pointless because I believe he will score well when he returns in a week or two. Thoughts anyone?

steve Says: 4:03 pm, April 24th, 2009

I to am tossing up skipwort for Nahas - ……. what to do !!!!

Raf Says: 4:18 pm, April 24th, 2009

Sean: Completely agree. If you’re not going to a cash cow or to a keeper, your trade is a mistake I reckon.

Rusky Says: 4:28 pm, April 24th, 2009

If your looking for a sideways trade for Skippy that still has value why not N.Krakouer?
It will cost you $39.2k in SC but he will still rise in value anyway. Averaging 100 points a game at the moment so might be a keeper as well.
Might be a donut solution if needed ;)

Ben Says: 4:30 pm, April 24th, 2009

@Jake

Don’t let pride get in the way of a decision. You need Ablett, get him.

steve Says: 4:38 pm, April 24th, 2009

what if you dont have enough for N. Krakouer but still happy to trade Spikworth ??? Any one with sound advice

taz Says: 4:38 pm, April 24th, 2009

looking to trade skipworth for a $90,000 player to free up some cash, either nahas or warren, but not sure who will be more of a benfit.
any suggestions??

nickyt Says: 4:52 pm, April 24th, 2009

Nahas is better value i think warren is to be dropped when anthony is fit.

Jonny Says: 4:53 pm, April 24th, 2009

Why is everyone trading for Hartlett and Warren this week, they have only played one game!!

Jake Says: 5:07 pm, April 24th, 2009

taz
Will you be copping a donut if you don’t trade skipworth? If not it might be an idea to wait a week and hope that sidebottom gets a call up soon. Because I only believe in buying rookies who i know will increase a lot in value and average 70-80. Hence, i didnt jump on cheney when everyone did! Personally i’m keeping skipworth, i believe he will increase in value enough when he returns to warrant not trading him.

Damo Says: 5:11 pm, April 24th, 2009

Warren and Anthony play completely different roles.. Warren will be in danger if Campbell is fit quickly

steve Says: 5:13 pm, April 24th, 2009

Good point Taz !!!

maybe Skppiworth gets another week in my team ! :-)

j drummo Says: 5:24 pm, April 24th, 2009

what about skippy to ziebell?

it is the best option i can find, as i have no spare cash…

or is there someone else?

Josh Says: 6:01 pm, April 24th, 2009

bugger!
got maric (idiotic) with spencer and jacobs on the pine!

tim Says: 6:11 pm, April 24th, 2009

my options are(SC):

1.

hill to broughton
skippy to franklin (18k short of riewoldt)

2.

skippy to sidebottom (or other rookie) or ziebell

3.

do nothing
(i have walker who can fill in 7th forward)

What do you think is the best option? or is there another better option?

Jordox Says: 6:26 pm, April 24th, 2009

i don’t understand why no one has mentioned scotty lucas for skippy!
i’m still tossing up between lucas and mitch clark from brisbane. he’s $227k and will be 1st ruck for the next month.

craig Says: 6:27 pm, April 24th, 2009

woop woop woop 27 of 30 should play this week. no trades required. skippy on the pine.

matt Says: 6:29 pm, April 24th, 2009

@tim definetly option 3, wait till sidebottom is NAMED for his 3rd game b4 getting him, same goes for Broughton (also Hill still has upside). Plus, Taylor Walker is playing against Melbourne and should do pretty well.

Nick Says: 6:49 pm, April 24th, 2009

Broughton is looking like a good downgrade target for Petrenko or one of my other docker kids.

PAULY!! Says: 6:59 pm, April 24th, 2009

Just made two big risky trades then in SC — Had 222000 abouts to play with…

Got rid of Cheney for Greenwood

Got rid of S.Burgoyne for G.Ablett (whose now captain)…

now left with 56,000 in the bank…thoughts??

Damo Says: 7:03 pm, April 24th, 2009

Question for everyone and anyone - Do Geelong players generally average better or worse down at KP in the wet and windy conditions? I know that efficiency is most likely to be down but you’d think hard ball gets would be up… Anyone got any cold hard facts on the matter?

Klasse Says: 7:03 pm, April 24th, 2009

Has anyone hear heard of saving trades. All you guys will be screwed and still complained in the last 7 rounds. ive got 20 trades left and still averaging over 2000. Plus a got skip, anthony, hentschell, raines, purgoyne. HARDEN UP FELLAS

Jonny Says: 7:14 pm, April 24th, 2009

SC!!!!

I have Skipworth with 290k to spend…

Who should I get?

Heater Says: 7:18 pm, April 24th, 2009

@ Klasse.

Agree with you totally, mate. The panic trades make me laugh :)

Its early days yet so if you can keep your trades; they are like gold come Round 14-15 onwards.

CFC 1979 Says: 7:30 pm, April 24th, 2009

Damo Jimmy B loves it wet at KP (ave 130 ). Never doubt Ablett down there (easily gets over 120 - 140 ). Only issue is i think Ablett did his ankle in the wet at KP last year. Worried about Chappy’s hamstrings though in the wet

pascoe Says: 7:46 pm, April 24th, 2009

ablett will rip it, so will bartel and joel selwood. stop worrying. they are freaks

The Fone Says: 8:11 pm, April 24th, 2009

My team:

Goddard, Gilbert, Lockyer, McMahon, Hurn, Petrenko, Cheney.

Ablett, Dal Santo, Boyd, A Selwood, R Shaw, Rich.

Fraser, McIntosh.

Betts, Krakouer, Higgins, Rioli, M Clark, Byrnes, Ziebell.

Emergencies: Suban, Beams, Warren.

Not really after advice, just wanted to let you know why I will be winning this week.

Ingoes Says: 10:31 pm, April 24th, 2009

What is the point of offering the stats on delay if they are hopelessly out of synch with the telecast?

I understand it not being accurate at the start of the televised match, but by halftime you really should have them lined up if you’re going to bother at all.

There’s not much point me watching most of the third quarter hoping Goddard will touch the footy - I know it won’t happen now, don’t I?

You’re committing a few clangers lately monty

same as last week Says: 11:13 pm, April 24th, 2009

I can’t understand people watching numbers going up on a screen. Check the numbers at the end and watch the game, seems like sense to me.

Nick` Says: 12:35 am, April 25th, 2009

Yeah its a bit frustrating, but just check at the intervals and watch the game mate, DT is an easy game to add up.

Not Montys fault channel 7 makes qtrs go for longer than they actually do.

I dont expect him to sit at home watching the telecast just so it can sync up with fanfooty stats.

Its better than nothing.

Nige Says: 1:00 am, April 25th, 2009

Ch 7 do a good job of packing those ads in…

pascoe Says: 9:27 am, April 25th, 2009

great to see that houlihan (which i assumed), Dalziell(which i knew) and Petrenko (which was the real worry) all get past the extended benches to make the starting 22 for their respective teams

Ingoes Says: 8:24 pm, April 25th, 2009

The delay you have on the Roos Tigers game is more than the actual delay.

This is much better.

Thank you monty

benno Says: 1:44 am, April 27th, 2009

i quite like a slight delay. if it was instantaneous we would just take it for granted and not watch for the scores to be added 9 hooray! this being-online-plus-watching-and-commenting business is new to me and a bit strange but i like how it works. plus we get in ahead of the count in our comments.
but i had a fair bit of trouble getting on to the ff live update pages earlier today. page wouldn’t load - but several times the ad at the top loaded fine, and then the rest stalled and the stats didn’t come up. didn’t much like that.

Dicko Says: 5:24 am, April 27th, 2009

Regarding the new prices, it is interesting that Harvey and Hille have gone down in price (based on their 0 this week) in Supercoach but not in Dreamteam.

hairy Says: 1:26 pm, April 27th, 2009

agree very laggy new server

Brent Says: 1:37 pm, April 27th, 2009

Hi Monty

This has nothing to do with this post!

I have taken a fairly large cross section and found that all supercoach score when combining both team tally up to within 5 to 10 points of 3300 everytime. Why is this so????

trent Says: 2:51 pm, April 27th, 2009

monty where the hell is a new blog mate!

lovepelican Says: 3:17 pm, April 27th, 2009

@ Brent

Supercoach has always done this as far as I am aware.

It is to do with “momentum” points and influence on the game etc and to ensure consistency between games (i.e unlike DT the total points in any one game is limited, but a players score within that total is not).

It is also why scores can go backwards for no apparent reason and somethings get massive points. i.e kick to win game gets lots more points than goal in first quarter.

Basically, points are weighted to get to the overall total.

hibbo Says: 6:52 pm, April 27th, 2009

M0NTY, how do u find past blogs on here? I’m looking for the one that had all the pre-season supercoach scores. Where do i go to get it?
