UPDATE: Today’s Herald Sun reckons Hall could miss the rest of this season in a worst-case scenario. Not good, not good:
“The next stage may be, if we don’t think he can improve, to play him differently,” Roos said. “Or the next stage after that is maybe he doesn’t play again this year, which hopefully doesn’t happen.
This is one biiiig week for injuries. Barry Hall has been ruled out for this week’s match against Geelong - and the worrying thing is it sounds like it could be longer:
Sydney Swans coach Paul Roos said today that Hall was suffering from groin soreness and hopefully this would only see him missing from action for one week… “Hopefully with the weeks rest we will see him back next week for the Fremantle game.”
“Hopefully”, huh. Heard that before. About Nigel Lappin, earlier this year. I don’t think there’s any clear winners in the Swans squad from Hall’s injury - there’s been no-one step up in his recent run of bad form.
Anyway, Hall is owned by 34,190 DT coaches right now. This means a fair few coaches will venture into Emergency Land this week to cover Chris Judd and Justin Koschitzke’s injuries. God forbid that Matthew Pavlich or The Chad come down with a Windy Hill Virus - it will mean a round of DT survival of the fittest.
At least none of these guys are playing funny buggers with selections. That’s the one positive to come out of all this.

Like my comment a few days ago - I think that BH missing this week will be a good thing - Gray has been a better scorer the past 2 weeks and stuck on my bench! Hopefully this is all Hall needs to get back to his regular 100 performances!
talk about a bad week.
iv got kozzy, judd and walker out this week and only have 6 trades left for the season.
probably going to trade kozzy for heater.
lets hope pav or chad dont come down coz i got them 2.
The key is to go into the finals with 4 trades if you are in a top 4 spot.
I’m trying to crack the top 100. Finals should take care of themselves…
&^%$*%$
Picked him up last week and now this? To make matters worse I have Kosi also in my forward line. If god forbid Buddy doesn’t come up I am screwed!
Already to cover the loses have traded out Josh Kennedy (blues variety) for Gray (I went with Westhoff last week) and will probably bring in Gray and Westhoff to do the job. Kosi and Hall on the bench and wait and see what happens. If the Swans lose this week, the pressure will come hard for Hall to play!
Have 7 trades left so will wait a week or so to see what happens with these two coming into the finals. Will bring in Hadley for Judd.
Molly
If Sydney look like missing the finals though chances are they won’t bring Hall back unless he is 100% fit.
This is probably the worst round of injuries I can remember. I hope McLeod can pull through.
Now I have to cover Kosi, Judd, Tarrant and Hall. God help me if Franklin doesn’t come up.
It could be worse. I could have traded for Heater in the last few weeks.
I have 8 trades left; if I could be sure Kosi was going to come back quick I’d probably suck up a week with a poor reserve on the field (Bizzell in this case). Hall I was considering getting rid of anyway, so I’ll turf him for sure. Judd and Tarrant are both covered by decent reserves, although if Judd looks to be out too long I might sidegrade him.
WHat’s particularly annoying about the Judd injury is that I’d had him captain all season until 2 weeks ago. I figured on Simon Black to have a blinder in his milestone game, change to him, he gets 51. So I swear I’ll keep Judd captain the rest of the year and switch back to him for last week.
Going to go with the Chad this week, I think. Him or God Junior.
yeah.. hall, tarrant, goodwin, judd, kosi…
being my first year too i dont really have playing reserves
