Choco Williams and Warren Tredrea gave a press conference today, discussing Wozza’s recent poor form and his future at the club. You can read the report here, but the most interesting point is below:
Tredrea … reiterated the club’s long-held view that he would start to play somewhere nearer his peak in the second half of 2007.
If Tredrea can come good - and not 100-average good, but 80-average good - he’ll be a definite bargain right now at $186k, with further drops likely. (However, at those prices even bad scores don’t take a heap off, so Tredrea probably won’t fall a great deal.)
But even though he’s a cheapie who may well come good, Tredrea is probably too risky for many coaches out there. If you’re in need of a boost, I’d recomment the punt, but otherwise it’s worth steering clear for now.
With Barry Hall at $274k, Aker at $249k, and Ryan O’Keefe at $294k, there’s plenty of other (more reliable) forwards who will do very well for a good price.

Didak at $257k is getting cheap too. He hasn’t played too well yet but you know he’ll get games and probably start to lift some time soon.
yeah i was thinkin it time to get rid of some of my lesser forwards.
damon white
alwen davey
nathan ablett
probly gonna get tredrea and hall
hoh hoh barry hall has a huuuugge amount of depreciation left in him.
if tredrea can start scoring 70’s id be happy, 60’s id be happy. more than hes usual 43 id be happy. but yes that little snippet up there is encouraging - i also heard that testing done by port revealed his agility and speed is back to pre-knee levels so it should be a matter of time…weeks…months
i see plenty more potential in tredrea than aker.
if aker couldn’t score over 68 against brisbane, his season is a write off.
this article just gets me down. two weeks ago, i scored 2250 and it would have been even more (perhaps a winning score) if those players i have kept the faith in, repaid me… aker, hall and tredders were my only players to score under 75. i think they managed a little over a 100 between them. the problem is, having plummeted in price, i can’t exactly sell them now because not only will i be making a huge loss, the players of similar prices now are rubbish. looks like ill have to hope those 3 return to their best.
- aker said on footy classified this week he should be returning to midfield soon
- tredders can’t really get any worse and choco said that he won’t be rested at all this season
- hall? id have to say he’s probably my biggest disappointment from the 3… he is supposed to be mr consistent… he’s been anything but this season. very erratic! o’keefe (along with the whole sydney side)… unreliable too.
question: worst fantasy players… syd or kangas?
I’ve taken a punt on Tredrea and as you say andy, I’ll be happy with mid 60’s with the occasional 70 later in the season. I don’t have many trades left and I need a stayer and he’s going to be on the bench most of the time anyway. I figure he’s less likely to get dropped than most of the other cheeper fwds going round so that will make him a reasonable back-up. First season at this stuff, so my logic could be flawed.
As for Hall, he’s a bargain, but I reckon you could wait a bit, his price isn’t going to go up in a hurry even with a couple of good games, his scores have been so below par - I’ve had him from the start … oh dear.
sorry, i know i’m just plugging this here.. but we want to get it out there, and we want people to see it! haha… (and we wanna do it again next week)…

Hey guys, i picked up tredders last week, offloaded alwyn davey for him. I think alwyn had hit his peak this season, and i didn’t think tredders could go much lower. However if he doesn’t pick up some form soon (next two weeks) i believe he may get dropped back to the SANFL. My current forward line atm is B. Johnson, N. Riewoldt, M. Pavlich, J. Brown, P. Chapman, W. Treadrea and S. Lucas.
